Hole in the wall vibe, decent beer list, and good burger. Not the best ever, but very satisfying when looking for a beer and burger in the evening.

It’s been 4 days and I’m still thinking about the burger I had. I got the burger with caramelized onions. It was a top 3 burger.

The tavern is very clean and well-kept. The decor and vintage vibes were so cozy!

Also got my beer in a chilled mug.

Good burger. Smells funny in the place. Love it all. Good porch, and patio(?), seating too.

Excellent food, beer, and service. I ordered 2 burgers: Sandy’s signature and Olive Burger with tater tots on the side. Both burgers were excellent, but Sandy’s signature that comes with caramelized onions is better. The tater tots were crispy and soft on the inside, as you’d expect. For drinks, I ordered the 9 Mile pub ale, which is dark beer with an incredible depth. Not strong, but full of taste.

Outstanding burgers! We had Sandy’s Signature and Sandy’s “Big Mac” Daddy. Hot, flavorful and juicy. Exactly how they are supposed to be. The buns were toasted perfectly. The caramelized onions added so much flavor. The onion rings and French fries were also hot and fresh out. Everything was so delicious. Server was attentive and polite. Definitely a must try if you’re in the Richfield area. 5*

Food was 10 out of ten
Service was 9 out of ten/ nothing wrong; just giving out a rating.
Ambiance was an 11 out of ten,
thanks for bringing some nostalgia to my life.
Location is good with Richfield being between Minneapolis and Bloomington it’s close to everyone.
I am extremely pleased to find this place “in-my-back-yard”.
We ate a hot-dog, cheese curds, impossible burger and a Sandy’s signature hamburger and would give the flavor, cook time and order correctness a ten out of ten.
A gentleman that took our order was laid back in a good way and got our order correct, the older gentleman greated us nicely.
I was here with family but the vibe I saw was a casual place very filled with 81 single-young-adults, although I’m sure through out the night there were couples and other families as well.
There is a parking lot in back behind the patio with around twenty some spaces.
I’m also happy because my Hispanic date was so satisfied with this Hamburger and commented that this Great Sandy’s signature hamburger was the closest thing to a Latino or Mexican street burger with it having a good texture of the ground beef patty as if it was molded well, the cheese was very nicely melted and the bun was not overly toasted of too hard. It’s the kind of place that could franchise easily but it won’t, it could and I am happy that it hasn’t, so it remains special; the kind of place that I hope no-one reads this and remains quaint!

Update to add that I spoke with the manager today June 30, and he was very apologetic.

What happened to this place?! Stopped in after seeing some amazing burgers on this app, plus a local FB burger page.

What I was served was a pathetic, unseasoned patty that was thin and not very edible. I was starving, so I choked it down. The burger I ordered was an olive/ sour cream burger. It came with the sour cream on the bottom (??), ok weird ,and the olives on top of patty with a cold and an unmelted piece of cheese.
I took the cheese off immediately, and the bartender acknowledged the lack of melting saying it was a new cook?! LOL, ok?!

The burger I was served doesn’t look anything like what I see in the photos on this app or the local burger page.

The bartender was attentive, but didn’t ask how my burger was and I did not mention how bad it was.
They were busy, and I just have to assume they also sandbag their burgers. No way this was cooked fresh, it literally came out in 3 minutes.

I will stick with Frenchman’s or Shantytown, which are usually my go to, but I really wanted to try Sandy’s. Oh well.

It was 1:00 on Friday afternoon, maybe 7 or 8 tables and 1 other person at the bar.

Again, good service and atmosphere was great.
But that new cook needs to go!

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Very tiny – total hole in the wall – but so fun to sit at bar and chat with the bartender and server.

The biggest shocker was everything was ala carte and we were unaware when the server/bar tender asked if we wanted fries or tots, so of course thinking it was included with a nearly $20 burger in a dive bar, we each ordered a side. Somehow he didn’t mention it was extra. So fast-forward and imagine the surprise of a $45 meal for 2 lousy, smallish burgers, fries, tots, 1 arnold palmer and 1 water! Brought up the fact to the server and he just shrugged. Yay. Great custimer service. Unbelievably we still tipped him well. Had the food blown my hair back, I could at least see those prices…but it was mediocre at best. Could’ve went to a steakhouse had bread, salad, steak and a side for that. I rarely give a poor review because I try to find some redeeming quality…any redeeming quality…but I didn’t find one. Disappointing. Won’t be back.

Classic neighborhood watering hole featuring a full menu with unique twists. The olive burger and mushroom and Swiss burger were delicious coupled with perfectly done crinkle fries. We enjoyed prompt service from the personable bartender while eating at the bar. Fresh and clean for an old school motif with updates in seating and tables felt like management wanted the experience to be comfortable and it was… we’ll try out the new deck next time.
