Jay’s Pizza and Ice Cream, based on initial impressions, seems to be a no-frills, pizza, subs, and salad place. This sort of corner establishment seems ubiquitous in New England. They offer counter service and a paltry few seats for dine in (maybe 3 bar stools at another counter and 2 small tables with 2-3 chairs). The establishment has clearly optimized for to-go orders.

The establishment’s name belies its menu of momos (dumplings) and small selection of Himalayan-Nepalese-IndoChinese fare. I went specifically for the momos, priced at $13.99-$14.99 for 10 pcs. Pricing varies based on filling (vegetable, chicken, pork, or beef) and preparation style (steamed, fried, in soup, or with chili). The portions, both size and pricewise, seemed similar to those at restaurants.

The momos themselves came with regular orange chutney and a spicier chutney. Overall, the momos seems reasonable. I do wish the filling had more aromatics; the absence of cumin made the steamed ones indistinguishable from other East Asian dumplings.

I also tried the fried ones out of curiosity. They came deep fried rather than the pan fried style of potstickers / gyoza. I’m biased towards steamed dumplings, but I’m glad I tried these out regardless.

i went in and ordered veggie chow-mein, and its overcooked, looks burnt and i requested them to make it medium spicy and i got super spicy which i was not even able to eat it. its dry and the noodles are not even boiled because they are very chewy and they were not boiled properly. please check your food quality and take customers seriously. thank you

Amazing Nepali food! Seli roti and momo are so good!! My husband is Nepali and he’s usually a tough critic. We’ve gotten their kulfi (Indian ice cream) before too.

Ell was excellent, very friendly, polite and gave a great fast experience with an update on when food came out. Food was fresh hot and had good service. I come here once in a while and the Lo mein (i like it spicy because its really spicy) steak bombs, momo (fried) and ice cream is great and they are open VERY late. Had such a great experience tonight with a friend I had to shout out to Ell!

Overall ice cream and frappe quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered two extra thick frappes – one strawberry cheesecake and one chocolate

The strawberry cheesecake frappe was so delicious! Highly recommend. If you’re looking for a classic flavor, I recommend the extra thick chocolate frappe.

While the location of Jay’s Pizza and Ice Cream doesn’t feel the safest, especially at night, the service was quick and the frappes were delicious!

If ordering in person, especially ice cream, Jay’s has two Toast tablets inside that may be easier than waiting in line to order.

Seating is limited as well. Overall we were happy with our extra thick frappes.

Momo is literally my favorite thing. I eat any kind but this was the worst I have had. The keema was stale, the tomato sauce was stale. I expected more!

Great ice cream flavors and they were very helpful with my daughter’s peanut allergy. Used a new scoop in an unopened container. Very much appreciated!

You would think that a store trying to appeal to such a variety of customers wouldn’t be able to succeed on any singular front, but Jay’s takes that idea and knocks it out of the park. Delicious momo, ice cream, and I saw several pizza orders come in as we dined in.

Everything was closed for holidays but this place was open and what a nice surprise.
Unassuming place. Passed by many times without noticing the building. Ice cream from Richardsons dairy farms iykyk. Pizza. Fries. Momos! I love the steamed momos. With the sauces it’s amazing. With chicken pork or dollar more for beef. So flavorful and the spicy one has a kick.
Def will come back for momos.

The space inside is small lots of people doing pickup for pizza. There are few seats maybe two tables with two seats each. And 6 tall chairs by the windows.

Staff were nice I felt welcomed

There is a parking lot with maybe 5 spaces. And also next to pharmacy nearby

I’m a regular at this restaurant and I keep coming back because the food is excellent and the service is always friendly and attentive. However, I went in yesterday and the temperature inside was almost as cold as it was outside, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I really hope they can work on the heating soon, because everything else about this place is truly great and it deserves to be fully enjoyable.
