Unfortunately it was not good at all. Offerings were old and mushy or cold and dry.
The restaurant it self was old and in need of repair.
Staff was very friendly but not friendly enough to negate the shortcomings of the quality of the food.
There was a friendly cat out front that the staff was taking care off. So that was nice.

This was my first time at Empire Buffet with my family and it was a wonderful experience. It had a lot of variety, especially if you come during normal hours when the food is fresh. The servers were the best part of the experience. They made sure everything was okay at our table and were very inviting. A lot of the food complaints seem to come from people who arrive right before closing and expect everything to still be perfect. When we tipped, the servers were noticeably happy, which says a lot about how hard they work and how rarely they’re appreciated.

We’ve been here before, a few years ago. Unfortunately, the food all looks almost the same color? Beige or yellow.
Minimal selection options if you are a vegetarian. Not sure what vegan’s would order, unless ordering from the menu and requesting it steamed?
String beans, steamed cabbage, overly seasoned zucchini pieces, steamed rice.
Why is bean curd never an option on buffets?
Everything tasted the same. No uniquely cultural flavors.
My husband said the banana pudding was made with packaged LEMON pudding, and the chocolate pudding was also very boxed-tasting?
Our server was very polite and attentive though, so a shout out to her for sure.
Side note- you prepay upon entering the restaurant. They do accept cards too.
With several competitive Asian restaurants nearby, it would be awesome to see this place try & be more competitive with flavors and alternative food/dietary options.

Making our way through to tweetsie Railroad when we got hungry and decided to try this buffet out since they usually have options for different people. You first walk in and I was surprised to find that you have to pay first, and then you are able to sit down and eat. Normal Chinese buffet ambiance. They had sushi, but unfortunately, most of it is imitation sushi, and it didn’t taste fresh at all and just was not good. Their Wasabi looked like guacamole. Their food options were ok. There’s not a lot to choose from. I was waiting for them to put fresh fries, but they never did. They just kept the old soggy and dry ones out. They had noodles, rice, chicken, and broccoli and their normal dishes. The food itself is OK but not the best. I think the best items were the ice cream and the fruit. Other than that, it’s a no-go for us and especially for the price. The servers, though, were very attentive and friendly.

Went in the afternoon and food both looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day if not even from the day before as well. Very few options and many stuff was out (around 8pm that night, they close at 9:30) and never were restocked even once. Staff members were barley around, one dude was literally sitting watching a movie behind the counter (??)…After reading reviews of others experience, definitely wouldn’t recommend here unless you want a stomach ache.

This was my first time coming here and I honestly loved it. The food had so many options, everything tasted fresh, and the staff was really nice. Definitely a great first experience, I’d definitely come back again.

I thought it was odd to be pre pay but after looking at the food and managing to find something to put on my plate I had two bites and spit the food out, I understood why….First time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant. Would have been better eating from the dumpster behind Walmart…. And probably safer. This place needs to be shut down!!

I’ve eaten at a thousandChinese restaurants buffets in this is by far the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen. The variety of foods it covers the whole menu this is not cutting corners it’s worth every penny of it I highly recommend eating here today Don’t wait till tomorrow come today

If I could give them one star I would. Thia was horrible . If you want your stomach to sound like your washing shoes in a dryer then go here. Honestly my stomach is hurting so bad after eating. Wish I would have read these reviews about the food being out all day. The waiter is very nice and attentive the one with the glasses
