The warmth of this coffee spot is pronounced through and through! I had a latte on each of my two visits- vanilla bourbon and pumpkin spice. They were creamy, tasty, and drinkable by temperature! Exactly what I expected to find in a niche little town corner coffee shop! The pastries are amazing and the merch enticing! I’ll be back, on my monthly trips!

Good Sense Coffee in Howell, Michigan, offers an inviting atmosphere with its cool roof and red brick walls, creating a cozy setting for patrons. The café features a dedicated kids’ corner stocked with storybooks, making it a family-friendly spot where you can often see little ones enjoying themselves. The staff is known for their friendliness, enhancing the overall experience. As a locally owned roasting company since 2013, they focus on providing exceptional coffee while giving back to those in need. The café, which opened in August 2024, is located at 102 E Grand River Ave, replacing the former Uptown Coffeehouse. With its combination of quality coffee, charitable mission, and welcoming environment, Good Sense Coffee is a must-visit in Howell.

Our favorite local coffee shop! My husband and I frequent good sense. Each time we are greeted with a smile & a warm welcome. The barista Heather is the best and always recognizes us when we come in.

They have a good variety of coffee selection to choose from with rotating seasonal flavors. We love the almond milk lattes in their big mugs. There is a nice area for you to sit and relax. The kids corner is perfect for little ones! A lot of time we come in to sit and work on our computers & it’s very welcoming to that. We also love that good sense is so involved with the community.

Highly recommend giving them a visit!

Latte meets Cappuccino.

I went to this coffee shop, not once, not twice, but three days in a row to get what I deem as the greatest coffee combination of the season. Not only are you getting a cup of caffeination which will give you the energy you need to go shopping all morning for the holidays (you’re welcome), but you also get this smooth velvety peppermint mocha (not too sweet) with some cappuccino foam which in my eyes is the perfect combination of a coffee drink.

Aslynne made my drink, which essentially made my day which is why I’m posting this review.

If you can handle the caffeine, love a drink not too sweet, and want to take your coffee ordering to the next level, you must ask for:
-16 oz hot Latte (the source doesn’t have to moo for it to be milk but I preferred whole milk)
-4 shots espresso
-Half sweet with peppermint mocha (Tis the season)
-Cappuccino foam on top.

And if you’re reaaallllllyyyy lucky, Aslynne will be there to make it for you.

Again, you’re welcome.

Really good coffee and their sea salt chocolate chip cookie was prolly one of the best cookies I’ve ever had in my entire life. Just wish they had a few more food items. Other then that, def worth trying sometime!

They have a really nice, cute area for kids and it’s cute and cozy inside. The two times I’ve been so far the coffee tastes a little burnt, I got an ice latte in the summer and just got a hot latte now – I t’s still overall a good cup of coffee and I’m going to continue to come back and support local!

Super kid friendly! This place not only has great coffee & lots of natural light, but also an amazing kid corner. They have books, games, toys, puzzles, a large table for coloring, & a chalk board. Perfect place for a mama coffee/play date ☕️

Everything here is A+ except for the most important thing- the coffee. This coffee shop has an excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, clean bathrooms. It’s a great place to sit and study or relax or hang out or read a book.

However, at the end of the day, a coffee shop will be judged on its coffee.

I ordered a latte here. I paid a premium price for it, and I was disappointed at the temperature. It was barely warm. Coffee should be served much hotter than this.

Haven’t been here since it was Uptown, where I spent most of my afternoons after school when I was younger. Atmosphere, coffee and pastry were all excellent. Highly recommend!!

Very friendly staff (Hannah & Katy), gave great recommendations for lattes with various flavors and spices. I tried the holiday cheer latte and it tasted delicious with flavors reminding me of the Christmas season! Thank you for the wonderful service!
