Good salad bar selection. Excellent choice of soups and chili as part of the salad bar. Salad and Soup bar for seniors 55+ is only $12 and includes a choice of potato. We ordered baked but while they were done were lukewarm at best. It was the end of the day so I will give a pass as to only a small amount of lettuce left. Nice, attentive server. The atmosphere could use an upgrade throughout. But food was good

I know every town has to have a cheap restaurant that services the low-income and elderly, but I still thought it would be better. I was served the worst Reuben of my life. I have done far better at home. I know this because the meat was the lowest possible quality. You know those frozen bricks of meat that cook for 60 seconds and you are supposed to chop them up into pieces, because that’s the low quality stuff? That was my meat, except they didn’t chop it up so you could still see the texture. I had the knoeohla soup, which was fine, but I have no frame of reference. My bill didn’t charge me for the drink, which most people would appreciate, but my lemonade tasted like root beer, so I’ll call it a wash. And the service? I was given my drink, soup and sandwich promptly, but otherwise completely ignored until I was done with my food waiting for ten minutes. The plus side? It was cheap, and I could pay with QR code. Other than that, unless you can’t afford anywhere else, please don’t go.

We stopped in on June 22, 2024 to eat. It was our first time eating here in over a year. We both ordered the chicken ranch wrap with fries and no drink and the food was great! My wife also got the soup and salad bar. Food presentation was nice! Our waitress was Katie and she was very friendly. The atmosphere here is very cozy and allot of the locals go here for breakfast. It was very clean. This place has the biggest soup and salad Bar in town. We only waited about 7-10 minutes for our food to arrive. Overall 10/10 on the experience we had. This is also a great place to check out if you are from out of town and looking for a local restaurant that isn’t part of a big chain.

This is a pretty good place to go with a good hometown feel. The food is good, especially breakfast items. Dinner items are fair,. Some items are prepackaged. The salad bar is well stocked and attended regularly to refill items getting low. Most recently tried the chicken fried steak pictured below. Cream gravy is very good and well peppered. Mashed potatoes are made in-house with those yummy lumps of potato in there! The roll…eh. Go with King Hawaiian rolls. Overall, it’s my go-to place in Devils Lake!

There is very little here for vegetarians including if you do the salad bar. The locals said this was a great place. The staff who were mostly high school teens, we’re very sweet…but the food isn’t much to look forward to. I couldn’t find anything to eat but the Knoephla soup because it wasn’t meat based but it came with mostly solid balls of plain solid flour dumplings and very little soup (like 9 tablespoons). I asked the waitress for some more soup and she was kind to give me another cup of soup with just the soup and no dumplings and didn’t charge me for it. I couldn’t find anything else to eat so I bought some coffee to make my bill a bit more and tipped my nice waitress about 50%. I would have loved some fried bread and Native American eats instead.
