If you’re a New Yorker living in Dallas or just someone who appreciates a real, quality sandwich — Deli News on Preston Road is a must-visit. It’s one of those rare spots that truly captures the essence of a classic New York deli.
I ordered the Reuben with fries, and it was absolutely fantastic — perfectly stacked, juicy, and flavorful with that authentic NY-style bite. It instantly took me back home. My wife had the BLT, and she loved it too — simple, fresh, and made just right.
Everything from the portions to the flavor feels authentic, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere has that casual deli charm that makes you want to stay a little longer just to enjoy it all.
We’ll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu — there’s a lot more I want to try! If you’re craving New York–style sandwiches in Dallas, this is the place.

Had a delicious pastrami melt that hit all the right notes — tender, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. The split pea soup was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had — rich, hearty, and full of flavor. You really can’t go wrong with this spot for lunch.
As someone from New York City, this place brings me straight back down memory lane — authentic deli taste, generous portions, and that classic NYC vibe. Definitely a go-to spot when you’re craving real deli comfort food in Texas!
We also decided to try the cheesecake, 100x better than Cheesecake Factory and tried the chocolate streusel..they were rich and creamy loaded with flavor. All homemade too at the restaurant. We also bought homemade Challah bread that the owner said he uses for French toast for breakfast at the restaurant.
I would say this is our new favorite Deli spot in North Texas! You MUST stop on by now that they also have dinner hours if you can’t make it for lunch or breakfast.
Owner, Jeff, and his employees are very friendly and gave us history on where they sourced their food, background is the restaurant etc.
Say Hi to Jeff and let them know “Derrick sent you!”
