As seasoned seafood boil lovers, we’ve tried spots all over and were excited to give this place a go. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, and the food itself was good — fresh and well-prepared. That said, because we’re pretty serious boil connoisseurs, a couple of things stood out.
Flavour: The sauce was tasty but lacked the rich, generous coating we’re used to. We typically expect the boil to be fully immersed in sauce, and this one felt a little light.
Temperature: The seafood arrived warm rather than hot, which took away from the full experience.
Service: Decent and friendly, but fairly basic. Nothing bad, just nothing standout.
Ambiance: Good vibes overall and an enjoyable setting to dine in.
All in all, it was a good meal, just not exceptional when compared to the top-tier boils we’ve experienced. For casual diners, it’ll hit the spot — but for hardcore seafood boil enthusiasts like us, it’s a solid 3.5 out of 5.

Food was great. Service not so much. Staff was friendly. They forgot drinks that were ordered. It took a long time to get service. Items that were ordered also did not arrive. However, this may be from a short staff issue. The food and drink we did receive were delicious. It was cute how they do the birthday song and sign with the sparkler coming out of the desert.

I fo t write reviews very often but here… OMG. The food was delicious. I love seafood boil and it was so yummy. Most restaurants around are so basic ( burgers, shawarma, fries ect.) Being happy to eat something different and good. Can’t wait for warm weather when my kids will enjoy the playground and I can have a nice time again. ☺️

Nice Crab boil place. A little pricey. Our Long Island was just ok. The Beignets were good. The picture of them has added powdered sugar, which was still lacking. Food was good.

I’ve been craving a seafood boil lately and a friend recommended we try this place. The building is really cute outside and inside! There’s also a little playground outside. We walked in without reservations and were seated right away. We got our drinks and apps fairly quickly as well. We really liked the cute fishbowl cocktail. It was evenly mixed and tasted great!
I had a few questions about how portions worked compared to weight and our server was easily able to answer without getting too technical. We did not have to wait long at all to get our food either. The seafood boils came out in a tied bag on a tray and a trash can, bibs, gloves, a shell cracker, and shell splitter were given to us for ease of eating.
As soon as we poured those bags onto our trays our mouths were watering. It looked so good and it tasted even better. We both got the A+ seasoning which is all of their seasonings mixed together and we liked it a lot. My sister got it with a medium spice level and said she didn’t taste much spice as if it was a mild spice level like what I got but still tasted good. The seafood was fresh as well. I loved the snow crab legs and they were decently sized too.
It wasn’t too loud inside and not too busy for a Friday night and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Everything was decently priced and the bathrooms were fairly clean as well. Overall we liked the place a lot and would come here again.

The utmost Delicious seafood I have had in Great Lake. Great prices, good service and a spacious place great for big groups. The shrimp was big, the crab was delicious and the crawfish was all priced for quality and quantity. This establishment IMO doesnt excessively OVER charge for extra items like potatoes, eggs and corn. Just overall great seafood Boil prices. The Hot Garlic Butter style boil I had was so delicious and you pretty much mix it up yourself. The catfish bites were also fabulous. Crispy coated delights with a nice amount of fries included. Everything was devoured with no left overs. I can’t wait to get another boil from A Plus Crab!

This was the absolute best crab boil spot I’ve been to in metro Detroit. It was so much food, we were so full by the end and still had at least 8-9 shrimp in our bags plus potatoes. Everything is extremely reasonable in price, especially for the quality/quantity. I got a lb of snow crab legs, a lb of shrimp and corn/potatoes and it was cooked PERFECTLY. I barely had to use the tools! Highly recommend this place as the service was spectacular too.

We ordered the bag with crab legs, sausage and shrimp and then added hard boiled eggs. We chose the garlic butter seasoning option. Everything was delicious! Tried a couple drinks and they were also great.

The seafood was ok, the seafood steam bag was a Lil shy of comparable restaurants in the area, the lobster tail in garlic butter was good. But the calamari was rubber bands. This place has an opportunity to be different I hope their Chef places something unique on the menu to set themselves apart.

This place is awesome. Great food and it looks like they van handle very large groups – which is perfect when you want to go wild with your bib on! 😉 They’ve got different clams, shrimp and crab with tasty corn and potatoes. Highly recommend.
