We loved this place. My boyfriend had the huevos ranchers and I had a child’s portion of the chicken enchiladas and it was more than enough. The portions were generous, the service was fast and friendly, the salsa and chips were great, good prices. Everything tasted fresh. It’s like a mom and pop diner atmosphere. If we lived on the area we would frequent this place.

Update: We came back and ordered the Chilaquiles and steak picado. It was really good.
Highly recommend. Rachel our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the red enchiladas. Very delicious.

We were in town visiting and we’re dying for some authentic New Mexican food for lunch. This place was highly rated and suggested by Grok AI, so we decided to try it. I’ve always wanted to try Menudo and figured they knew how to do it well, so we ordered a small to share. The bowl was huge and came with a side of what they called “long bread”, which is like Texas Toast. The broth and hominy was super good, but we didn’t care for the taste or texture of the tripe, but that’s not their fault. I’m sure it’s an acquired taste. I had the Chicken Enchiladas, Christmas style, which came with really good beans and rice. My husband had the Shredded Beef Burrito, also Christmas style. It was all delicious and the portions were so huge, we each took over half home and had it for dinner later. Their salsa is to die for and the service was great. Everyone was really nice and we were seated quickly.

It’s a very popular place with locals and understandably so. They have a big, free parking lot in the back and some spots in front. We’d love to eat there again and you should definitely go!

Staff was friendly and welcoming! Chips, salsa and guacamole were fresh, so were the tortillas. I had the stacked enchiladas Christmas style and they were amazing! The chicken soup was delicious, full of veggies and lots of chicken. The asado plate was also very good, the sauce was perfect. Portions were outstanding and had plenty for left overs. We will definitely be coming back. Atmosphere was nice, mostly because I felt like I was just eating with my family. Lunch just a little over $50.00

The name says it all. I was told it means “hidden place”. If you don’t know about this little diner you may never know it’s there. I forgot how we discovered the place but 15 years ago we dined here many times and I was happy to see it’s still here. Love the chorizo and eggs and huevos rancheros too. It’s mostly a local crowd here so you know its good. Service is quick and attentive and also very friendly. It’s just a couple of miles west of Main on Second street so be sure to stop in for some great food.

The shredded beef tacos, pico style are fabulous…so much flavor, good portion with 4 tacos. The salsa is probably the most perfect I’ve ever eaten..good heat and spice. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

My husband and I came by for a late lunch after a medical procedure. I hadn’t eaten in two days and my nurse recommend this cafe. I was loopy and struggled with the word Tampiqueno! The server was patient and polite. The food was out of this world and the coffee so delicious, no cream necessary. We arrived at 2. They close at 3. They made us a fresh pot of coffee. All the food was fresh and flavorful. Im dreaming of the next trip to Roswell just to dine here again.
