A friend of mine referred me to Talladega Grill after seeing my posts about another burger joint in Cape Town. I was in the area and decided to give them a try. The option to place your order on WhatsApp is so convenient and that’s the route I decided to go with my food order. It also gives you quite an accurate time frame when your order will be ready, my order was ready in 15 minutes as stipulated.
Once I got to the location I just had a quick look around of the place inside, it has a nostalgic, American roadhouse-like theme on the inside much like the pitstops you see in some movies.
I decided to order myself a banana deluxe milkshake while I waited for my order. The milkshake was okay, no real bananas were used to make it. More of a concentrated banana syrup with gelatinous pieces in it and some yellow sprinkles.
The food on the other hand was lovely! I ordered the fully loaded brisket fries which came with a cheese sauce, jalapenos and brisket pieces. It was seasoned really well the brisket was cut in cubes instead of being shredded and the cheese sauce wasn’t just an average sauce that tasted more like dairy than actual cheese, it was surprisingly good and complimented the brisket, fries and jalapenos really well.
I also ordered the smash and brisket burger with cheese and that too was lovely. Loaded with lots of braised onions and then sliced brisket, a smash patty, cheese, mustard, chipotle mayonnaise and tomato sauce (don’t think I found a gherkin on my burger although the menu said there are gherkins on as well).
I’m actually surprised the brisket isn’t pulled apart, instead it’s either cut into slices or cubes as per my burger and loaded fries.
I’d love to try a few other things on their menu some time, so they will see me in the near future for sure!

After our pleasant experience with the Telladega Grill food truck we decided to give the restaurant a try and it did not disappoint. Their smoked brisket is the most tender and tasty you will ever experience.
At the restaurant they have a wider variety of options including Tex Mex Nachos or Tacos. They also have love milkshakes and soda or mocktails to quench your thirst.
Desert options are also available to end your meal on a sweet note.
One disappointment was that we couldn’t try the waffle fries as they were sold out but maybe next time.
Our waitress was training so the service was not the quickest and she also made a small error with our order.
But overall the delicious meal and cool environment was a pleasant experience which we will definitely repeat.

There’s no way in hell that the meat here was prepared the old smoked Texan way – pressure cooker for sure. There was no smokiness or seasoning…it looked good for sure but was very bland, you could only taste the sauces…Bin Rashieds food is much much better….there you taste proper smokiness & flavor in the meat & patties..

We were excited to try Taladaga grill. Our orders were smash burger with brisket and rib @R180, and my wife opted for a philly cheese steak@R170. The burger was tender and delicious, however the cheese steak was very dissapponting. Below on the left is taladagas and on the right is an American philly cheese steak. A cheese steak is thinly sliced or chopped pieces of steak with onion sometimes green peppers, mushrooms etc on a foot long hogie roll packed with steak. Taladagas cheese steak previously seen online looked way better than what we got. The steak pieces were tender but the cheese was absolutely horrible. There was more gross cheese than steak and the we definitely didnt expect a hotdog as a substitute for a hogie. They couldve used a french or something better than a hotdog roll. Absolutely dissapponting.

Tried Talladega Grill recently and was pleasantly surprised! The Smash and Brisket Burger was a standout—juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor. I also had the Rib Eye Roll on a Brochure Bun; while the steak was slightly tough, the seasoning and overall taste made up for it.
What really elevated the experience was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed, upbeat vibe that made the meal even more enjoyable.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re into bold flavors and warm hospitality. Will be back to try more from the menu!

The first time I bought their food was when they traveled to JHB, family and I enjoyed the food. Have supported them a few times at the various markets and never had any issues. Last weekend I attended the “Young at heart market” held in CT and bought burgers. Ordered the Double cheese please. When I bit into the burger, I tasted no Garnish. Opened the bun ,Pics attached,,only received 1 gherkin, no jalapeños no onions. Added this pics of description of the burger and th actual burger I received. I went back to the truck questioned it, I was crossed questioned and then they investigate my burger, opening each Patti looking for the Garnish they did not give me, they add gherkins, hand it to me,get to the table, still no onions, no jalapeños. Disappointed , not supporting them again.

The food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I had the rib, brisket and sausage box and it was more than enough for the two of us. Everything was cooked to perfection. The highlight for us for was their Mac and Cheese balls. I LOVE mac and cheese and this definitely did not disappoint. I will definitely be back again

I don’t like to give a bad review but you guys deserve it. We came to celebrate a birthday lunch, what was supposed to be a joyous occasion ended up being a frustrating and disappointing outing. We were 8 people, 6 meals were served within 8mins of each other, the 7th meal came 20 mins later and the last one 34 mins after the 1st meal arrived. Needless to say this put a dampener on our happy occasion. Half of the meals were cold and to be honest, out of the 8, only 3 people enjoyed their meal. We will not be going back.

We went to Talledega Grill tonight – yes literally a few hours ago and the service? Sickening.
We called on Thursday to make a booking considering it’s Ramadan and when we arrived there was literally no one to help the kitchen has to be understaffed cause what’s a more suitable excuse? Exactly.
We are 3 people, fair enough there was a notice saying that the waiting time would be 60 minutes, so we gave our food and drinks orders and waited, extremely patiently- for an hour and a half! Not one person came to ask if we got the food and no one even brought out the drinks. I eventually told our group we can get up and go then our food came. Without the drinks (which is usually served first)
Nonetheless, the food was okay, brisket was good, their mac and cheese burger was dry and the beef ribs were a bit wild. Nachos? Terrible would not recommend at all and it came after the food cause “it takes longer to make” why? It was literally wet chips with cheddar cheese – no meat.
Do yourself a favour and rather just order it on Uber eats at around 4pm so you can at least see your driver bring it by supper time.
You have to be desperate for food to wait there but definitely would not recommend as a sit down.

Simply the best ribs and briskets I’ve eaten in my life . It was sooo good. I took the combo meal Ribs, brisket and sausages and chicken nachos. Ribs and briskets were soo juicy and burst of flavors. The combo meal is for 2 persons. They don’t hesitate on quantity, its well served!
