Great place! Owner is awesome and allowed us into his hanger to check out the classic planes housed there. The food was good and plentiful, lots of air traffic on a Saturday morning ing to watch as you enjoy your meal. Highly recommend driving or flying into this place. Right off Rt 66 as well!

The Hangar Kafe is a very unique place in the middle of nowhere. They do have a lot of signs to guide you there. When you get there, you realize why it is in the middle of nowhere. It has a parachuting place right next to it.
The best part of the lunch was the ability to go out and watch the planes launch and the parachutes come down. It made for an entertaining lunch. The cafe inside was very well decorated with all things aviation.
The lunch itself was okay with standard American fare. I had the chicken tenders and they were okay but the French fries were homemade and excellent. My wife really enjoyed her beef soup.
We would definitely go back if we are in the area for the show at the very least.also she liked the sweet potato fries.

Really cool place to eat lunch! I really enjoyed my butterscotch pie and brought home a jar of apple butter to enjoy the next day.

No matter where you are in the world, there are three things that always go together: airplanes, delays, and awful experiences. Apparently, that applies to Hanger Kafe too.

The burger and tots? Terrific. The atmosphere? Charming.
That’s where the positives stop.

I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for ONE burger and tots. During that eternity, not a single server checked on me. The café was full, but somehow one of the servers still found enough downtime to take a nap with her head down on the counter. My water sat empty for half the time, and thank goodness I didn’t waste money on a soda.

I didn’t complain—I wanted to enjoy myself. After all, I’ve been hearing about this place for 10 years and finally got the chance to try it.

The menu clearly lists all the burger toppings and side options. While fries are standard, it looks like you can swap for other sides. The waitress asked me what I wanted, I said “tots,” and thought nothing of it. Imagine my surprise at checkout when my $10 burger magically became $15. Yes, there’s tax, but the mystery fee? A $3 tater tot substitute.

I politely asked if that was correct. The waitress confirmed it was—then rolled her eyes as she handed me the receipt. I guess she was upset I didn’t leave a tip… though I felt my 30% “tot tax” covered it nicely.

A note to servers: some people (like me) tip in cash. I had every intention of leaving something, even with the poor service, until the eye-roll at the register sealed the deal. At that point, I just wanted to escape, find a drink, and avoid being charged an “oxygen fee” for daring to reach for my wallet.

If you have hours to spare, an iron will against dehydration, and a desire to pay gourmet prices for side swaps, Hanger Kafe is your spot. If not, proceed with caution—and bring your own beverage.

If you are looking for an great place with avaition themed events this is it. You will see sky divers landing right out the window or crop dusters honing their skills. There is outdoor and indoor dining and the staff is great! The food is great and it is a great place to just hang out and watch all the activity.

I hope to update this review once I have actually partaken of the Hangar Kafe’s goods and services. My brother and I rode for an hour to get there, based on the Internet saying they closed at 4, only to find that they had closed at 2. (We arrived at 2:15)

Besides managing their online presence, I don’t have anything to say except, “cool looking place.”

Pretty good food (got the Western Omelet with toast and Corned Beef hash with sunny side eggs) with more than adequate proportions. The overall esthetic of the place was great, lots of history and cool stuff on the walls. Cant wait to go back in the summer, Im sure they’ll have the planes out by then!

Absolutely love this place!!!
Great food, great service and love the decor!
So cool to see crop dusting planes and skydivers landing as we ate.
We enjoyed lunch with a large group of friends and they accommodated all of us with no problem. We then decided to jump at of a perfectly fine plane and land on our backsides on the ground in front of strangers. It was fantastic and would definitely do it again.
