This is where the locals go. I always sit at the bar. Bartender is attentive and always has a suggestion, whether it’s the Special of the Day or a new craft beer. The gator po boy is great. The owner is always cheerful and caring. Checks to make sure your food is okay. If not? She takes care of it immediately. One of my favorite places to eat. Cajun.

I’m a tad late with this but recently moved to the area and saw a restaurant with a strange name. I didn’t expect much when I went in on Valentine’s Day but wow, I loved the hostess and the waitress was very inviting, I enjoyed the food as well! Huge fan of the mushrooms! Such a hidden gem if you want the feel of a somewhat classy joint with the feeling of being around friends/at home, this is a spot for you!

Fat Cam’s is a wonderful local restaurant with often amazing food. Every time I have gone the staff has been nothing short of wonderful; kind, attentive, caring and knowledgeable. The decor is great but I prefer to sit out on the screened in porch when available for the view of the lake and the breeze. The food… everything I have had has been wonderful and the owners/chef really do care about quality in what they bring to the table.

Fat Cams is back and I am so glad they are! They reeled me in with a Wednesday night special of 1 lb of crab legs for $27. Upon getting into the restaurant, the overwhelming urge to once again taste their delectable gumbo came over me! So, we compromised. We all ordered a large gumbo and ordered one entree of snow crab legs to satiate the craving! Everything was delicious! We ordered new Orleans style peel and eat shrimp for an app. The sauce was tasty and the hush puppies were cooked to perfection. The gumbo arrived piping hot and just as tasty as ever! The crab lakes were plentiful and very sweet. Overall, a fantastic experience that makes us glad to have Fat Cams back!

P.s. they do take reservations but only if you call before 3!

We stopped in on a whim and didn’t have reservations but the staff accommodated us and was happy to seat us. We waited about 25 minutes and it was well worth the wait. The waitress was very friendly and answered all our questions and even though it was close to closing she was extremely pleasant and happy to help us. We ordered the Cam Roll (Lobster Roll) and Fish and chips. The fish and chips was delicious and had a nice thin layer of breading. The walleye was tasty and fresh. The lobster Roll stole the show! It was one of the best Lobster rolls I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend it. We learned that making reservations a couple days in advance is the best way to guarantee a seat as they are always busy. Do not hesitate to eat here. You will have a wonderful meal. We really appreciated everything and highly recommend them.

First, I’ll say that I am from the south and have eaten in New Orleans and absolutely love Cajun food and Creole flavors. I’ve been looking at pictures from this restaurant on their social media page and online, and the food really looks amazing. I finally decided to give it a shot. I got there around 5:30 and was seated near the bar. The bar was full, and people were standing behind the barstools. They were a little over-indulged and were wandering away from the bar and crowding my table. But the bar crowd thinned out a little after 6, so things got better.
I ordered fried green tomatoes with remoulade as an app and shrimp and grits as my entrée. The tomatoes were cooked well but weren’t seasoned, just breaded, and the remoulade was white, I’ve never seen white remoulade before, but I still gave it a try and didn’t like it. It seemed like plain mayo with some dry seasoning mixed in, but I really don’t know what it was. The shrimp and grits were also lacking flavor. The presentation was good, and they did a good job cooking the gouda grits and the shrimp, but there was no heat, and the flavor was barely there.
I get that tastes vary, and I know I’m a long way from New Orleans. Maybe the Cajun spices aren’t a big hit this far north because I know this place has good reviews, but I left a little disappointed.

Everything on the menu is good. Never had a bad meal. Definitely order some cajun food though. Pork belly bites are the best app I’ve had. The gumbo is my favorite entree’.

The Portobello Mushrooms w/Roasted Garlic, a Balsamic Reduction, shaved Parmesan & Micro-Greens were truly delightful. I’ve visited this establishment on countless occasions and have never experienced this appetizer. Bravo!
