Thank you for visiting the Island Grill website. We are a family owned and operated business that was established in 1996 by Andy and Allison Yoa. Andy is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a BS in Food Service Management and an Assoc. in Culinary Arts. He is the head chef and runs the back of the restaurant, and wife Allison manages the front of the restaurant. The Island Grill would not be where it is today without the much-needed support of other family members: hosts Debbie & Jim Yoa and J. Linden Steel. The next generation is also on board with sons Alex and Austin Yoa and their cousins Cameron & Carter Yoa

This was our second time here and it was just as delicious as we remembered! We got the soup sampler (not pictured, gone too quick), fried calamari, drunken shrimp, swordfish special, and the fish tacos. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very attentive and checked back in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. Next time we’re in Ocean City we’ll be making a point to stop here for dinner again.

The food was really good here. My aunt got the lobster and shrimp and the lobster really tasted so fresh. I got chicken even though it’s not a chicken house. I really wanted the shrimp po boy but decided at the last second to not get it. So someone get it for me. But my hens chicken sandwich was really good.
Our waitress was Skyler. She seemed new or maybe just frazzled. We asked for separate checks but didn’t get them which we didn’t make a big deal about. She didn’t put a $6 soup on the bill and I just wanted to tell her to just to be honest and she really did put it back on the bill. She said she didn’t want to get in trouble. Which is wild. Would she really get in trouble for that? We went on a Thursday night at 6pm in September and it was freezing in there. I’m normally hot and I was cold. All the tables are wayyyy too close together. I heard this pregnant woman said she couldn’t fit between them. It’s true. You have to wait for people to get by to walk down the normal aisle. That’s why I gave atmosphere 4 stars. But if you don’t care about that then this food is really good. We did have to wait 20 min but that wasn’t bad

Dinner was delicious! My husband had the ultimate combo and I had the local wam bam salad. The house dressing was amazing and refreshing! Our waitress, Pam was awesome! After having a terrible dinner at another seafood restaurant in the area, this experience was more than what we could have asked for! A definite hidden gem!!

Island Grill Seafood & Steakhouse is a nice informal seafood restaurant. It’s nicely decorated with fish artwork and a large mural. The menu is pretty expansive with plenty of seafood, steak, and bbq options. I ended up ordering the brisket dinner. This was a very large portion and came with a side salad, corn bread, coleslaw, and french fries. It was an excellent meal. The service was also great, the waitress was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was informal and pleasant. I highly recommend dining at the Island Grill.

The fish, chips (French fries), and Keylime pie (homemade) were excellent. Get there early and you can pick out your fish. Service by Pam, whose three children also work in the restaurant, was outstanding. You cannot make a reservation. The place gets busy early. The crowd was convivial. But, if you are allergic to MSG, beware of the soups. It sneaked into one of the chowders via a soup base. One of the owners had to investigate to find that out. I hope they fixed that. I will go back, but no soup for me!

HANDS DOWN, BEST GARLIC KNOTS EVER!!! They only have them on the “Specials” menu, so be sure to check their Instagram or call beforehand because they are totally worth making the trip on the days they have them! Excellent food, staff and service. We were at the Coastal Chateau Boutique Hotel and walked down to grab a bite. They do not take reservations so be sure to go early or send one person from your group that can go and put your name in. Take out is also fabulous! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if near the Ocean City, NJ area!!

My family had a delicious dinner here recently. We enjoyed it so much, we came back for round two the next evening! There’s lots of fresh seafood on the menu, steaks, burgers, salads and many options for kids.
They were on a wait both nights but they provided seating outside where we could pass the time. The first night, we sat outside and the second night we moved inside. The servers were friendly and attentive.
Portions were generous. I had the wham bam salad the first night and the lemon garlic scallops the second night. Both were delicious and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Our party also tried the summer chicken sandwich (delicious), a venison special (ordered medium rare but came out well done), the Cowboy Burger and the Caribbean Quesadilla (both delicious and huge) and the cauliflower steak (undercooked and under seasoned).
Overall, this is a great spot!

Friday night around 5:30 PM, we got a table right away for my wife and I and my two young kids. We had a great dinner, the New York strip steak was excellent, the onion haystack on top has me hungry again just talking about it. Our waiter Tyler was excellent and brought dinner rolls for the kids and was spot on with refilling drinks not even having to ask. Will definitely visit again.

We had dinner there last month. It was our 1st time at this restaurant. Reason for the 4 star instead of 5 was due to the 1st interaction we had with the hostess. She was not polite or accommodating at all. We arrived around 4:30, restaurant was not busy and yet she would not let us sit at the booth we wanted. So, we asked to sit outside, she rolled her eyes and sighed before bringing us outside. The waitress we had saved our experience. She was so wonderful to us as well to the other tables around us. We had the salmon and the coconut shrimp. Both dishes were delicious. The shrimp was the best I’ve ever had! We ended the night with the key lime pie. So, so good!
