Took a little drive to see if this place truly is a taste of Maine. Well we weren’t disappointed. Clam chowder was great and so was the lobster roll, the shrimp roll, and the fish roll. Well worth the drive for a unique taste experience. Definitely reminded of our trip to Maine.

The hubs and I made the 45 minute trip to try out this place that was recommended. The lobster roll was fabulous! Tender lobster and excellent buttered, toasted bread. Hubs had tge crabmeat melt that was also perfect! Great flavor from the bread to the crab.

We discovered this place by accident while walking past. I’ve been to made so I was a tad skeptical about a lobster roll in the South. We are so glad we stopped. We ordered a lobster roll, Perfect Storm style with soup. Then we went back and ordered more. It was better than anything we found in Maine. The lobster and crab come in fresh from Maine. I couldn’t wait to finish my food before starting the review. My husband is texting his friends. The ambience is come-as-you-are picnic tables spruced up with table clothes, perfect for lunch with my husband.

The Taste of Maine is my new favorite food truck. The menu is outstanding. The buttery rolls and the seafood they cook make a wonderful combination. The lobster roll is so good. The fish roll is good too. I hope they keep coming to Athens because I wanna try their entire menu!

I ordered a crab melt with double meat and two sides. I waited over 25 minutes for a bland sandwich with more butter than crab.
It was so tasteless and dry I almost didn’t eat it. The sandwich was in severe need of seasoning or flavor. It tasted like plain buttered toast, with a hint of unseasoned boiled crab. Considering I paid for double the crab, I’d be terrified to see what the regular portion is.
Others ordered the $15 lobster roll special, which looked better (though still not great). I was extremely disappointed, and definitely won’t be back.

I’ve tried the Lobster melt, the Crab Roll and the Lobster roll and I am looking forward to trying everything on the menu the food is excellent! Also, they knew me by name when I call d which put a huge smile on my face. This is a five star place with five star service.
