This is what you get when your order $7 Crab Rangoons. It was less than half the size of a fortune cookie and there was more wonton wrapping than there was filling. The General Tso was just ok. Do yourself a favor and go to Hunan Garden further iron bridge towards the courthouse.

This PEKING location has gone through an interior redesign, a fresh design for the young and old to experience; simple, less of the original ambience, newer feel with the use of wood dining room tables and wooden chairs and hardwood floors. Long gone are the table clothes and carpet floors.
A bar is located along a section of the wall. Sorry, no bar stools for sitting, at least not present during this visit. Evening lighting was appropriate and well lit throughout the restaurant; ceiling spotlights and one wall art lighting sufficiently the dining area, not overdone, giving a nice, fresh approach to evening dining without to little or too much lighting. Very comfortable.

Dad and I were greeted at the entrance desk and seated promptly upon entering the restaurant. Our server met us as we were being seated, offering assistance for securing Dad’s larger size walker roller out of the way of our table and any other guests who may come along to seat next to us. She asked us what beverages we would like to have for our evening meal. We ordered hot tee and sides of water.

My father and I looked over the menu placed on the wooden table while waiting for our beverages. The menu was simple, one lamenated board with selections of appetizers, soups, chef specials and categorized meats and fish dishes, along with rice. Dad selected the Crispy Beef with Orange Glaze (Sauce) and I, the General So Chicken dish. We also selected hot and sour soup and two egg rolls/spring rolls filled with shrimp and pork.

The soup arrived first. It was good as I remembered from other Peking visits. The spring rolls/egg rolls arrived after the soup was finished. They were full and flavorable, nice size shrimp within. Of course Dad and I used hot mustard to add a bit of kick to the rolls. Once finished, our main dishes came out and were placed on the table with the finished dishes being removed. We enjoyed each of our dishes, drinking hot tee throughout the meal with leftovers to take home after the evening meal was complete.

All said and done, we thoroughly enjoyed our whole meal experience from the time we were seated to the time we finished. Thank you Peking staff for a wonderful evening of good food preparation, presentation, and flavor along with the great service!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the Chester area. We have been frequenting this place for over a decade. I am happy they have reopened for dining-in after being only carry out since the pandemic. Interior has been updated and remodeled. Ambiance is nice, bright and open. Food is always consistently good and tasty. Texture and flavor of the orange chicken is delectable. The Singapore noodles is my favorite dish to order. I loved the rainbow vegetable mix with fish. As with every other restaurant the prices have went up and the portions are smaller than they used to be. I still recommend this restaurant over the fast food Chinese places because the quality is worth it.

Cold steamed dumplings was the first red flag.
Chicken chow mein was disgusting. Inedibly salty … 3 bites and out, the rest got thrown away. Four people, 3 appetizers, 4 main courses, one iced tea, one lemonade and with tip the bill was $170.00

Service was decent.

Outrageous amount of money for really bad food. Never again.

2 decades have passed, but glad I stopped in again for lunch. Bright clean update to interior, same great food at reasonable prices. Same great service. I’ll return a lot sooner next time.

It had been years since I ate at Peking in Chester so my friend and I decided to have lunch there this past Sunday. They had the buffet set up but they also offered the option to order from the menu. We opted for the buffet. There were plenty of selections to choose from. However, the veggie egg rolls were extremely greasy. I tried rolling and squeezing out much if the grease in a napkin, but it didn’t help. The food was good, wouldn’t call it great. It was a bit overpriced. The bill was $46.85 combined (no drinks). I can say with certainty that this was the last time I will eat there.

Something has changed at P King. I got orange chicken last night and it was not good. It was a takeout. I didn’t notify them of the quality, but the taste was off. Also my eggroll or spring roll was not even good. They must have a new cook, new owners or something, but the food taste is just not the same, but the price is higher than ever.

I have lived in Chester my entire life and have been eating here since I was a little kid. But on 11/14/2025 I order to-go and spent close to $40 for two items and it was the worst food ever!!!! I hate to say but I’m pretty sure I’m not ever going back or recommending!

We returned for our second time to Peking Chester and again were impressed by the service, simplicity of the decor and of course the fantastic food. Enjoyed egg drop soup, dumplings and steak-on-a-stick appetizers. The steak was slightly well done for preference but flavor excellent. The wife went with sweet & sour chicken and I absolutely smashed the Phoenix! A new favorite!
