This pizza is the very best in a city known for its outstanding pies. The crust is the foundation, in no way an afterthought, with just the right amount of crunch. The sauce and toppings are just as good. I would recommend ordering a whole pie, rather than a slice, to get the full experience. Despite recently going through a change in ownership after many years as a family-owned business, the pie remains absolutely identical to the one that served me so well and so often over 50 years ago! For me, this place is a reason to go to New Haven. Try it – you will not be disappointed!

Went back to see if Pizza House STILL has good pizza and IT DOES! Its ABSOLUTELY phenomenal. Nice thin crust and sliced in squares with the Right amount of their signature sauce. I enjoy their Sausage/Pepperoni with Garlic and you will THANK me later! Great job for maintaining a good PIZZA when I need it most!

I came in late, just hoping to grab a quick bite, but instead I got one of the best experiences ever. The young guy working the oven welcomed me with a big smile and, believe it or not, gave me his own pizza that he was making for himself.

This was one of few pizza places that I have not tried in Downtown New Haven. It has a great atmosphere. You can easily enjoy your pie eating in.
Since it seems like they don’t have an online ordering system, I had to call to place my order.
The small Pepperoni pie came out after 20 minutes. I don’t know what they use to cook their pizza, but the crust finish feels and tastes like if it was cooked in a pan. No, it is not thick. But IMO it tastes like it.
Very good taste overall. Would eat here again, especially if it’s late night and I’m a little boozy.

Food is good. You can get quick slices to go for a reasonable price. They sell hot and cold subs, salads and calzones. Not a huge menu, but good for a quick dine in or pick up.

I have been going here for years! I love the pizza it is such a staple for me. The space has been renovated recently but the new owners/management has tried to keep the food and space the same as much as possible just a bit more modern. I recommend and try their pizza and wings.

Great pizza and courteous staff, but you should only visit here if you enjoy extremely loud and obnoxious customers at tables next to you, people who smell like weed, and feeling extremely unsafe as you eat. Recommend avoiding this place and the general area around it.
