Classy, open-timbered spot with cocktails, American fare, regular live music & Sunday brunch.

Went here with my son last night on a mission to find a good steak. Ambience was lovely, service was fine, the steak was awful. I got the cowboy steak (for $56!) and it was spiced with some horrendous sweet over the top smokehouse seasoning. Same with the potatoes that came with it. The seasoning made it hardly edible. I ordered medium rare and it was medium well at best and the consistency of the meat was bizarre. I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my son otherwise I would have sent it back. My son got the steak frites which was marginally better. The best part of both meals was the shoestring fries.
I used to come here when it was Bonta many years ago and always had an excellent dining experience. This was my second time trying CRs and both times have been a serious disappointment. The first time we ordered shrimp cocktail and the restaurant was out of horseradish, so we had to eat shrimp with ketchup
Bummed!

When going to this area of New Hampshire I always stay at the SpringHill Suites across the street from this restaurant. Finally trying the CR’s I had a decent experience. The atmosphere was very pleasant being at the bar and listening to the Live music. The drinks were delicious and the bartender was very friendly. The food was alittle bland. I had the octopus for an appetizer, which was not seasoned and tasted like rubber. Then for my main course the Duck, which for the price wasn’t up to par. I will come back to the restaurant for the drinks and desserts.

We sat at the bar and had fairly good service but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Salads were fine and my husband said his $46 scallops were ok. However, my $52 filet mignon was so dry; zero juice and flavorless. I think it might have been some kind of fake meat! If it wasn’t for the accompanying sauce on the filet, it would have been completely inedible. We did like the side of risotto. The chocolate mousse wasn’t even close to mousse… not even pudding consistency, practically a soup! It’s probably fine for happy hour and burger, but otherwise not worth the money.

If I could give no stars I would. I bought my father a gift card for $100. He took his wife there for a nice dinner. When they got the check, they were informed that they are not accepting gift cards that day. Is that even legal? I paid cash for the gift card. It should be just as good as cash. They refused to accept it. He will never go back, I will never go back. Everyone I talked to says they will never go there because of this. Don’t sell gift cards if you are not going to accept them. Bad business all the way around. Not worth it, poorly run business.

We were warmly welcomed for our dinner reservation this Saturday. We chose CRs for a small celebration. The waitress was incredibly attentive to us and made the atmosphere very welcoming. The restaurant is cozy and perfect for a winter night.
The menu is well thought out, and the addition of a wine pairing to each dish was exciting. I chose the Duck Duo this time, which was cooked perfectly. The duck was served with flavorful soba noodles and complemented with fresh vegetables. My husband also loved the cannolis.
My only recommendation to this restaurant is to sell their homemade rosemary hummus and homemade bread because I would buy them in bundles. Overall, we would recommend CR’s to all of my friends.

We were celebrating an anniversary, this restaurant was subtlety elegant. Nothing pretentious. Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff that made you feel instantly welcomed. The food was incredibly delicious, with ample portions. Cooked to perfection. The waitstaff genuinely friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed this evening, and highly recommend making a trip here. You will not be disappointed.

CR’s is one of our most favored restaurants. Beautiful, lush interior and dimmed lighting makes for great ambiance. Thursday nights experience was a bit off for us. We were happy to have Lisa for our server. A loyal employee there some 9 years. We shared two sautéed crab cakes and Oyster Rockefeller. The delivery person failed to inform us the oysters were atop rock salt and not bread crumbs as we thought, soon spitting out the briny substance. The crab cakes were generous, lump and delicious. The arugula side was good. It took awhile for the Crispy Salmon to arrive. That’s fine, it was a special occasion and we were in no hurry. It was nicely cooked atop fried slabs of polenta, the zucchini pasta and sautéed tomatoes. It all worked together well. The Chicken Piccata was nicely sautéed but lacked the proper butter/lemon ratio. It cried for lemon flavor. Strawberry Shortcake completed our dining experience. It was an off-night but we love the place and will return again.

The food was good! We had dinner at the bar. The bartender was not too friendly. We had to ask for everything a couple times. It is a happening place. They offer many gluten free food. The flavors were great! It is not too close to the beach. It was pretty busy on a weekend.
I would recommend to make a reservation. They have an outdoor patio as well.

This place looks fanatic, great ambiance and lovely reviews. My husband and I have been in the restaurant industry for over a decade, and we enjoy going out to eat.
Looks can be deceiving! We got the octopus and pork belly appetizer. Octopus was shoe leather with a simple salad arrangement on the bottom. Pork belly was mediocre, and not the worst part of our dinner.
We were told when we got our drinks that there would be bread while we wait for our appetizers. We had to request it once our appetizers arrived, and the bread was cold. But the spreads they brought to accompany the bread were the best part of the meal. It was a variety of maple butter, olive oil, and hummus.
For entrees we got the braised “short rib” and the sea bass ragu special. The “short rib” was definitely not a short rib. And my sea bass although the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned the ragu on the bottom was pizza sauce with added white beans, you can tell this was just thrown together quickly.
The service was very slow, but it was a busy Friday and they were polite. So that’s a given with any restaurant.
Overall the food was mediocre at best, and no where near worth the price you pay. Will never be back.

I bought my parents a gift card to CR’s for Christmas because they’ve always loved going there. They were so excited for a nice night out, which doesn’t happen often anymore due to my father’s illness. Unfortunately, their experience ended up being very disappointing.
After finishing their meal, they presented their gift card, only to be told it couldn’t be accepted that evening. This was especially frustrating because no one mentioned it beforehand — not when they were seated, not when they ordered, and there were no signs or notices to let guests know. If there are times when gift cards aren’t accepted, that’s understandable, but it’s something that should be clearly communicated upfront — whether by a posted sign, during reservations, or by the server before ordering.
What made it worse is that nothing was done to make the situation right. For a restaurant that’s considered one of the nicer spots in the area, this kind of oversight — and lack of care for elderly guests — reflects very poorly on the establishment. I genuinely hope management takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and customer care going forward.
