We came as walk-ins for dinner, must appreciate the parking ‍♀️ The host / owner (?) was very nice and welcoming. The temperature inside was adjusted properly. The music was not too loud to enjoy the conversation service was genuinely nice, (we just don’t like it when constantly coming over to take away plates, it makes us feel rushed).
Wooden floor portion is beautiful. The first floor restrooms have a funky smell and the paper towel dispenser is broken – this room could use a reno. Now to the food –
Scones – chewy, dry 3/10.
Potato skin with bacon – missing a kick, almost bland 6/10.
French onion soup – we don’t fancy the liqueur in it, so almost good 7/10.
Caesar Salad – lettuce should be chillier, chicken was ok 6.5/10.
Burger – requested med-well, got well done chard tough patty ‍♀️ but the bun, onions, pickles and lettuce were very fresh, and elevated it 7.5/10.
Mashed potatoes (I’m harsh, standards are French-high) – heavy and not completely smooth, gravy is watery and lame – presentation is nice but flavor is borderline geriatric 5/10.
Cobb salad – not balanced, wanted something light, more fresh lettuce, but this dish is kinda heavy 6/10. Guinness poured well. Potential IS there, we would give another chance.

I always love a great old-fashioned Irish Pub, and O’Neill’s truly hits the spot when it comes to ambiance, food, and service. I stopped in for a quick lunch after visiting the local aquarium a few blocks away, and I immediately loved the atmosphere of this place as soon as I walked in. The waitstaff is friendly and welcoming, and food is truly delicious and flavorful. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Florentine, and I must say… it was a good thing I was hungry because you really get your monies worth with that plate of food. I also appreciated the complimenary little basket of what looked and tasted like irish soda bread biscuits. All the menu items are reasonably priced, in my opinion, and they have a pretty good drinks selection as well. The place is quite spacious, and they do offer outdoor dining. I definitely will make it a point to stop in again the next time I am in the area.

Super loud- the music was cranked up, which caused if table in the place to scream at each other to be heard.

Food was meh (who puts celery on nachos?)

Drink prices were good though as well as decent service.

Ended up back here because of traffic on the Merritt. Used to live in SoNo a decade ago and this place was a regular staple.

10 years later this place is exactly how I remembered it, beautiful pub atmosphere, food is absolutely amazing, 10 out of 10 experience.

Ordered the French Onion soup and Bangers and Mash, girlfriend had Salmon Florentine. Delicious! Could easily overeat at this place.

So happy I stopped here again for another visit after all these years. Don’t ever change, O’Neils!

What a great place to spend St Patrick day eve. The place was packed but we were able to get our food fairly quickly. Service was good. Food was delicious. We found parking in the lower level. Many don’t know that exist. Elevator right up to the restaurant bar. . Corn beef and potatoes was really really good too.

If u like or find helpful please click like. Thanks.

Came here as a group to eat for a relatives birthday. The outdoor vibes were great and the staff was very helpful. The POS system allowed for every couple/person to have their own tab without giving their actual card. Drinks were solid, I drank the passion sour two road beer.

Food across the board was great. The service and time was even crazier. My cousin ordered food and the waitress kept taking our orders down the table and the plate came out before she even left.

I think the owner or manager was out there helping staff too which was great. Great vibes for a family and also a night out in sono. Would def recommend and come back.

A large group of my friends and I stopped by for lunch. Not only is this a gorgeous pub but the food is delicious! I had a glass of wine , their potato skins and their beautiful, buttery scones! I took some with me back to my hotel room . I was sad we didn’t have time to come back for dinner. Our waitress took excellent care of us despite the huge number of people in our group. You should all try this place, it’s ambiance, drink and service is the best!
