We stopped here since we had the salt lake city pass. We were so happy we had the opportunity to eat here as it was a beautiful house to enjoy a meal in the city. They validated parking for 3 hours. Food was fantastic and we left the place feeling full. A must stop and if you don’t want to eat grab dessert. You will not be disappointed. Friendly Staff

As far as cafeteria style food goes, this is best-in-class. I come here whenever I’m visiting City Creek Center. It’s not too expensive, and you get a good serving of home-style cooking that has never had me leave regretting that I ate there. In my experience its never too crowded either, it has a nice hole-in-the-wall feel to it.

The Lion House Pantry was delicious. It’s located in a historic Brigham Young house in Temple Square and has a unique ambiance. We had the corned beef, chicken noodle soup, and the rolls. My only regret is that we didn’t get more rolls. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

Simply the most amazing rolls i’ve ever tasted. Both the orange cinnamon and the Signature Lion House Rolls are worth the journey into Temple Square. What the place lacks in ambiance is well compensated for with it’s history and friendly employees. (Note to first time Utah visitors: soft drinks only…duh.)
5 Stars. Highly recommended! Richferguson143 with Siobhan O’Connor

Beautiful historic venue and pantry. I’ve been to a couple of lunches and receptions for weddings here and it’s been great every time. I love the hisotric feel of the building and the classic look of the furniture, lighting, and decor. It’s also close to City Creek and the temple so it’s in the middle of everything.

This was fun for my daughter and her birthday party with all of her friends it is really easy for the parents because we can offload all the hassle of the party to the lion house. Our party leader was great and had a lot of fun with the girls. I wish they would offer a little bit more for dinner but then again I was one of the two parents there what was offered was just fine for the little kids.

Nice place! The renovated house of Brigham Young, this place serves as a restaurant on temple square. The entrees all came with two sides and a Lionhouse roll (the rolls were great!). The soups had nice cafeteria feel about them, and fellow visitors found the meat options (aside from Salmon) had more than necessary fat. For the most part, with home cooked potatoes and chicken noodle soup, I would say the food was pretty good, and the soups were worth the price. The setting was the real charm of the place. 🙂

Good quality and taste, however a bit pricey for the portion size.

Love the warm dinner rolls with sweet butter! Anything you order is a delight. Portions are very plentiful; always make space for soup!

It’s been a few years, and this place might not reopen, but we enjoyed our summer visit to SLC and stopping here for lunch. Historic setting and great atmosphere. Hope they don’t close this up.
