I had the lobster linguine today at Del Mar Ristorante Pizzeria Italiano, and it was absolutely delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the lobster was fresh, tender, and full of flavor. The sauce had a beautiful balance of richness and freshness that brought everything together. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Italian food and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I searched Google for any Italian restaurants that made risotto and funny this was the only one I could find. It was nice had flavour but salty and I was unable to remove a vegetable I didn’t eat, so I picked it out. Not ideal for anyone with allergies
Anyway, when we did arrive we were given a warm welcome. We were sat in the conservatory sort of part of the restaurant which wasn’t quite as warm as the rest of the restaurant, but didn’t really have much of an impact in our evening.
Anyway anyway, this is where the good news starts! The food from start to finish was incredible. Well beyond my expectations. I mean to give you some idea, we had prawn starters and the kids shared some cheesy garlic bread. We have eaten a lot of places, but these are literally THE best prawns we have ever had.
In the mains we had a mixture of seafood linguine, sea bass, chicken parmesan and pizza. All of the food went down like an absolute storm! Everything washed down with a bottle of Pecorino and a few pints of Poretti.
It has to be said that we really had average expectations on our evening and it really turned out to be such a great night and couldn’t compliment the food any more. We certainly would come back, just because I want more of those prawns!!
And the problem, we asked for pouring cream instead of ice cream !
After we had our starter and main meal, I asked for the apple pie with pouring cream rather than ice-cream, the answer was quite a definitive NO. I asked why. The waiter said, the owners wont allow it. I said I just wanted to exchange ice-cream for pouring cream, he said NO. I asked if they had pouring cream on the premises, he said yes, but just for Irish coffees. I asked if he could use that instead of ice cream, he said NO, the owners monitor the cream usage and they wont allow it. He said he could give me a tiny amount of cream but thats it because it will fall on his head.
We asked to speak to William, who is also an owner, and he was too busy in the kitchen (which he was busy). We drank up and left.
Honestly, I have never been so disgusted in my life. They have lost a very loyal customer over substituting ice- cream for pouring cream. I hope it was worth it. They will never , ever see us again in their restaurant. These people believe they are above customer service.
I fully expect a derogatory response, but the facts are the facts.
