I was working in Perkasie, Pennsylvania on a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 Scat Pack and I asked our awesome customer where is a good local and non-chain place to eat. She immediately recommended the Historic Piper Tavern which was less than 3.0 miles away. The Historic Piper Tavern is a simple, casual, and cozy eatery with great food, drinks, and beverages served in a quaint historic colonial house. They have a very nice menu that is not too busy but it has something for everyone including some unique and special menu items. They are known for the great steaks, seafood, and burgers. You can have a delicious and fabulous meal coupled with warm, friendly, and attentive customer service. The establishment is definitely a popular place with the locals and it is definitely a refreshing change from the chains! It can get very busy in there and so arrive early and you won’t be disappointed!

Upon entering, I was we immediately greeted by Liz the Bartender. She was very friendly, pleasant, professional, and had a genuine smile. It was a Tuesday around 03:30 PM and I was immediately seated at the bar and provided with a menu and my beverage order taken. Liz was also my server and she immediately provided me with my beverage- Water, no ice, and lemon. I told her that my customer had recommended the restaurant and she indicated that they called in advance to inform her of my arrival. I asked her for her personal recommendations and favorites. She directed me to great entrees and comfort food that you typically cannot get elsewhere.

As an appetizer, I had the Snapper Soup which is their specialty. l had never heard of nor had Snapper Soup and Liz offered me a sample to try and I quickly gave a “Thumbs Up.” For my entree, I had the Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, and Cranberry Relish. Liz immediately brought out the Snapper Soup with crackers which devoured. Everything was absolutely delicious and my meal was prepared, portioned, cooked to perfection, and served hot. Liz was very attentive, friendly, efficient, and happy to help! In short, the fabulous food and awesome customer service made for a great dinning experience! Best of all, Greg, one of the owners really made me feel like family and we had a simple but nice conversation. I will definitely be returning here when I am in the area to try some of their other phenomenal appetizers, entrees, and specials.

The menu has a large variety of items, something for everybody. Pictured is French onion soup which was good but a little salty, tavern burger which was good, and veal schnitzel. I enjoyed the veal a lot. Waitress Michelle was very friendly.

Everything at Piper’s Tavern was on point…food, service and atmosphere. My flounder with lump crabmeat stuffing was delicious!! Tender and tasty. The green salad fresh. The Snapper soup also delicious!! My Dirty Martini was the only thing a little lacking, but that was probably because I like them especially dirty. The service was superb, with the server remembering every detail. This tavern is an historical spot that dates back to Revolutionary days. You could feel the history of the place. I would highly recommend a visit to the Tavern.

First time diners here… Such a cute and quant atmosphere. Homemade Caeser salad was very tasty, my veal entree was very good. It could have been served a little hotter but, they were very busy when we were there. I can’t say enough about our server Luna, she was the bar tender, server and hostess with a great personality and handled all of her responsibilities with top notch perfection. Thank you Luna for a wonderful experience. We definitely will be back!

We live in NJ and have driven past the Piper Tavern a number of times. Today we decided to check it out, and we’re so glad that we did. We shared the crab and chicken corn chowder; it was delicious. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff and my husband got the Roasted turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes; both meals were delicious. The Malibu cosmo was OMG fabulous. Our server Rebecca was wonderful. What a great stop. We definitely will return. I highly recommend.

I have been going here for 40 years. Always a great meal with great service. Went last night. Usual entree tasted less flavorful. The wait staff was overwhelmed. We waited a long time for our food. Only to be disappointed by its lack of taste. Very disappointed

We had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had here.

We were in the restaurant for over three hours, and most of that time we were completely ignored. Our waitress rarely checked on us, never asked if we wanted another drink while we were actually eating, and overall seemed uninterested in providing even basic service.

The food was just okay, but honestly the service ruined any chance of us caring about the meal. No attention, no follow-up, no effort.

Then comes the unbelievable part.

While we were having dessert, our waitress suddenly brought a second drink — the first time she showed any initiative all night. As we’re literally trying to finish the drink she just served, management comes over and tells us we need to “wrap it up” because they have reservations coming in.

So to sum it up:
Ignored for hours → finally served → then rushed out.

That’s not hospitality. That’s disorganization and disrespect for paying customers. If you can’t manage table timing, don’t take it out on the guests who were patient the entire night.

We won’t be back, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting decent service.
The manager had a pant suit on, and she was the rudest person I ever experienced will not.. Maybe if the food came out in a timely manner and the drinks came out and we were checked on we could be out in two hours instead of three so we basically got reprimanded for your shortcomings!! Do not go!! Not to mention that people that came after us got served before us. It was just very poorly managed and very rude !!
