Casual Italian meals & wood-fired pizzas offered in low-key, contemporary surroundings.

Maybe not usual but we were forgotten. Got our wine and then no one ever came back!. They were not crowded either. Finally we called someone over, about 35 minutes of sitting. The manager came over and was really apologetic, comped us the wine and offered another glass free. I’ve been there several times. The food is consistently very good. Usually the service is fine. I enjoy going there in part because of good food and close and plenty of free parking.

Good food if it’s your 1st time, but for us regulars, it’s not the same. I got a brisket with puree potato and broccoli to go, and you will see what it looks like in the pictures. Sadly, I was home when I opened it, and I was not about to drive back to exchange it. The shrimp appetizer was amazing. The regular pizza not to be confused with their wood fire pizza was good. The donuts and gelato tasted good. We took 4 of the donuts to go so we can enjoy them at home as well. The reason for the 3 stars on food is because their is no reason to get a meal to go, and it look like dog food with half the container empty. There was plenty of room, as you can tell, completely untouched.

We were there for an early dinner on a Thursday. The chopped salads were very good. They had a house dressing over romaine, feta(?), black olives, artichoke hearts, celery, peppericini, ham, and pimento (?).
My cousin had chicken Limone over linguini and spinach. The chicken breasts were flattened and lightly breaded. I had a bite of my cousin’s chicken; I thought it was very good.
I had lasagna. It was a generous portion with good flavor. There was a nice amount of cheese.
A nice, crusty bread was served with our meals. The bread was served with butter and a bottle of olive oil. Our waiter offered more slices of bread when he saw we had eaten the original offering.
There was a bar but we didn’t have any cocktails.
There are several handicap parking spaces and a concrete ramp that would make access easy for someone in a wheelchair.
It looks like there is an area for outside dining in appropriate weather.
The atmosphere inside is nice enough but not extravagant. It is essentially a single large open dining room. However, there is a separate dining room that I might use in the future for an upcoming private family event.

100/10 recommend dining here! This is easily the best Italian food we’ve ever had, and one of the best meals in a really long time.
Our waitress, Alex, and the whole staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was so lovely, and just what we needed after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of the city.
And the food! The food was divine. The stuffed mushrooms were out of this world, and could be a meal all on its own. The crispy stuffed chicken and salmon piccata were delicious, just make sure you save some of the warm bread from the beginning of the meal to soak up all of the decadent sauce from your mushrooms and meals! The kids pizza was so good, and massive! And Don’t skip on the drinks either, so yummy!
Bottom line, if you’re thinking of dining here, think no more!

Excellent experience at Mattone for a birthday dinner. We were brought some bruscetta on the house that wasn’t on the menu yet (to provide feedback). May of us ordered from one of the many specials that were offered. Dessert donuts were brought out at the end of the meal as well!

This was our first time coming to Mattone. They were able to take our reservation for 8 people on really short notice which was so great because everywhere else was booked. With our busy day I didn’t even think about having to make reservations anywhere. The food was delicious. The only thing I would’ve done differently is asked for my shrimp pesto with no tomatoes. They were very large chunks, but that’s just personal preference. Both of my children got the pizza on the kids menu which was surprisingly the size of a medium pizza. We definitely took plenty of pizza back home. Our waitress was great and everything was overall a great experience. I would definitely come back.

Vito runs an excellent top notch place. I was fortunate to share my birthday dinner there this year as a treat from my sister. Esme is wonderful as usual! Go eat!

First time going to Mattone & they did not disappoint. I tried the stuffed mushrooms which were amazing! The sauce on them was delicious. I also had the crispy stuffed chicken which had risotto, peas and more covered in a lemon sauce on a bed of spinach. This was very delicious as well. The lemon in the sauce was not overwhelming which was great. I definitely want to go back and try more of their dishes. Give them a try.

One of our favorite neighborhood spots. Everyone there is cheerful and friendly – hosts, servers, clearers. The food is always plentiful and delicious. We especially love the chopped Mattone salad (includes olives, hearts of palm, salami, ham, red pepper, hot peppers, blue cheese) and pasta dishes.
