At our Huntsville, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME EATING HERE ESPECIALLY AFTER WAITING 30 MINS IN THE DRIVE THRU AND WAS TOLD CORP. We love the food typically, but the workers here are just awful. They are so rude. Never smile, super short with you, closing the drive thru window before you can ask for anything. When taking the order, you feel rushed. They cut you off before your finished ordering. I’ve been inside, and there’s a full staff but not welcoming at all. They talk & cut up with each other- everyone with a phone in their hand.. we will try a different location next time.

My family met here just yesterday and my niece wanted roll instead of hush puppies she didn’t get it. The workers in front were backed up. One taking the orders also training a new employee. (Not on a register though) but how to take out trash. I will say the food was good and hot. I would think during lunch hour concentrate more on orders.

This Captain D’s is the best one in Huntsville. Not only is the food great, but the service is as well. After having a horrible experience at the North Parkway location, we decided to try this one. It is the farthest from home, but well worth the extra drive. The restaurant is clean, the employees are welcoming, and the food is oh so tasty! Loved it!

I ordered the 2 pc fish with coleslaw and fried okra.
The fish and okra were so greasy!
The crunchy pieces at the bottom were in a pool of grease!Everything was saturated in grease !
My wife ordered a baked potato for 1 of her sides and it was literally rotten through.
She couldn’t eat it.
The okra was mostly fried stems!
I usually love me some Captain D’s but this was horrible!

I am in town visiting locally, and have been here since Thursday evening. I’ve eaten out a few times already, and this, was BY FAR my best dining out experience so far. I ordered in the restaurant, to take it to go, since it’s been YEARS since I have had Captain Ds, as we don’t have many left back in Texas, and I didn’t want to hold up the drive thru line. The ordering was fast, and the staff was so kind and polite. The lady who I believe was possibly the manager, I’m not sure, was super kind to this older couple who was ordering ahead of me. All I recall is she was wearing a Marvel Sweatshirt. She was so patient and polite to this couple, it just made me smile! The young man taking my order was also very polite, and instead of waiting for the lady to finish taking the other couples order, he went ahead and took mine on another register! I had no longer than time to get my tea glass filled, and my order was ready!!! I was shocked! I got the food back to where I am staying about 10 or so minutes away, and it was still piping hot and fresh as could be. Everything was delicious and I was very pleased. I like to give credit where credit is due, and this location and the staff there are top tier. No wonder they stay busy!! Thank you for the delicious meal and kind, prompt service. I’ll definitely be back before I go home to have some more delicious food.

Typically speaking we have good results at this location. Today the restrooms were in horrible repair and the garbage was overflowing. This is very disappointing. I’m hoping they will correct this in the near future.

Been in drive thru line for 20 minutes with 2 cars ahead and no movement. What business runs this way? Parking lot empty, nobody in the small dining room, but 30 minutes to get to the window. Seems unreasonable

I don’t really know what was going on, because this was my first time at this location. The employees were perfectly friendly and all, though I could barely understand the guy on the speaker. Don’t know if it was because he was mumbling or because the speaker was messed up. The food, on the other hand, was quite frankly awful. It was hot when I got it, which is great. But it was super greasy and oily. Like pat it with a paper towel before you eat it, greasy. The breading wasn’t even crispy, it was so bad. I also ordered clam strips that I didn’t even eat. They were completely overcooked, to the point that it felt like I was chewing rocks. This was an overall poor experience, and I probably won’t be back.
