Annapolis has some great spots for sandwiches and if you’re not inclined to venture downtown to the historical Chick & Ruth’s to deal with the congestion, parking; Giolitti Delicatessen has a different vibe, and parking right outside easy Peezy.

We’ve been there a couple of times over the years but just went twice over the past month and had great experiences.

Yesterday, I had a fantastic sandwich called The Porchetta, the roasted pork was amazing and the seasoning was right on point, very good crusty bread. A week later I got another one and this one was perhaps even better! A few weeks ago they didn’t have this available and I went for the Muffaletta, again great bread and nice portions of meat with a spicy olive mix. Maybe not the same as from Central Market but good for Annapolis.

The wife had a build your own tuna, it was ok but she wouldn’t be ordering it again. I think she has her eye on a Parma for her next order. The place does carry Route 11 Potato Chips, we got the BBQ and they were above average. For dessert, I got a Tiramisu, a Cannoli, but the wife sure won hands down when she picked the Tres leches cake! Wow, next week when we are back in that area I will certainly try to score two slices of that stuff for sure as it was delicious and way better than the other two. Now here is a funny thing, in this return trip a week later, I get two more slices: it might be my imagination, however, my wife confirmed it too; we both thought that one of the slices didn’t taste as good as the other. I don’t know if this is a matter of them having multiple bakers, and them not quite following the same recipe quite as enthusiastically or not but the first slice of cake just didn’t jazz us as much as the second one.

The only serious service problem was when she got out to the car with the big bag of goodies, we discovered the 3 desserts were missing from the bag yet on our receipt. She had to go back to get them. Given how good they are, to have driven away & get home without dessert would have been heartbreaking so check your bags…at least on our return trip this 2nd week every thing was included. My only new disaster was upon getting home with some dinners packed in paper bags with handles. Walking from the car a big qt of red sauce dropped through the bottom of the paper bag; it had become saturated from condensation by sitting next to a frozen chicken piccata; CAREFULLY CARRY THE BAG FROM THE BOTTOM NEXT TIME!
It’s quite pain in the butt cleaning up quart of reds sauce in the garage after you produce a Jackson Pollock ripoff

I worked with Cheryl Molesky on a take out order for 30 people. We planned to provide finger food for an afternoon gathering. She actually suggested that we reduce the amount of food we intended to order, because the portions are so large. I only reduced the sweets, but even so there were quantities of delicious leftovers. The baguette sandwiches were enormous, stuffed with very generous quantities of meats and cheeses. Same for the desserts. I expected the ‘bites’ to be 1-2 bites, but they were nearly the size of the sandwiches. Everyone commented on the delicious food. We always enjoy stopping for a salad or sandwich when we’re in the neighborhood. The ambience is warm and friendly. I thank you for taking care of us.

I am still thinking about that porchetta sandwich. It was the best sandwich I have ever had. Perfectly seasoned, tender pork with crispy edges, all tucked into fresh bread that held everything together without falling apart. Every bite was unforgettable. If you are anywhere near Giolitti Delicatessen, treat yourself to the porchetta. You will understand why I am already craving it again.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. The Tonno Italiano and Mufaletta sandwiches are my favorites, and if company is coming at the last minute, I’ll stop and pick up a lasagna. Of course, I love anyone who makes me a homemade lasagna. 🙂
The imported foods/gifts are always a hit for holiday hostess gifts, too.

Up scale casual, kid friendly, large portions beautiful outdoor patio eating, great small shop inside with delicacies.

We got a Greek side salad, a side of potato salad and a kids spaghetti with marinara. Served with crispy soft bread perfect for soaking up the tomatoey marinara sauce Everything is so fresh and well prepared! We all left full and satisfied. And all this for under $20!

We got four sandwiches total and they were all made to order with freshly cut meats which is super nice, very fancy meats on display, very nice Spanish and Italian specialties available by weight. They also have a lot of salads by weight and lots of wines from Italy and some from Spain, like lots! Also some dried goods from Italy and great looking ready meals. Will go back for those for sure. Our subs were very good, the porchetta was by far the best one, the one with most stuffing and flavor. Mine was the parma and sadly… it didn’t have a lot of ham, you can see the pictures. The caprese was good, mostly thick mozzarella. Still recommend, it was a good sandwich.

What a great little deli near the Annapolis Town Center. Plenty of options for all your Italian food needs. The staff and service were amazing. I ordered their Roman Italian sandwich and added some Genoa salami. The bread and meat quality were outstanding. The bread held up to the healthy meat portion along with the vinaigrette very well. Great selection of sandwiches, wine, baked goods, prepared items, as well as imported items. I will definitely be heading back here again.

What a cute little deli! I absolutely love the wood accents inside. It’s not too big but still has enough room and some sitting areas. The staff was very friendly. Impressive selection of wine and some grocery items as well. The food was delicious! The tomato soup was out of this world!!! SOOO YUMMY! Fresh made sandwiches with Boars Head meat so you know it’s quality! Toppings were fresh and the Italian roll was soo good! They have different breads to choose from and they all sounded wonderful. My sandwich also came with a little fruit cup which was so cute. I’m looking forward to trying their pasta and other menu items! Definitely worth the stop!!
