This is the #143rd restaurant I have dined at in New Haven.
They have a small team and a small menu, but delivered it perfectly. There is an open kitchen where you can see the dough being made into a pizza. The bread is stickier compared with other apizza places in town. They also pair it with a classic Foxon Park soda.

Great people, great waiters, great pizza, TERRIBLE wait time. Waited for less than 20 minutes for any other competitive pizza spot with in a 30 minute drive, was about a 45 minute wait here. The longest wait time I’ve had of any pizza place in or around New Haven. Waiters bring a familial atmosphere. If you like char, burnt crust, and thin slice New Haven style, this is for you, but be prepared for a long wait time.

Great spot!
Delicious pizza and always very welcoming staff.
Perhaps a bit pricey compared to a few others in the area, but well worth dropping the extra bucks for. The way I look at instead of going to a mediocre spot once a week (pizza heaven) go here like once a month then.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend getting fresh garlic added to whatever pie you get. Automatically makes you say mama Mia that’s good!

I’m sorry to say that this was the worst stromboli that we’ve ever gotten from here. You could wring it out with the amount of grease in this. The outside tasted burnt and the inside was mush and grease and some UNcooked dough! We are so disappointed.

Run, don’t walk, to Ernie’s, both because it’s so good and because you’ll need to burn some calories to make up for all of the delicious pizza you’re going to eat. There was zero wait on a Saturday night even though this place deserves a line out the door. We got a pepperoni mozzarella pie and a hot cherry peppers mozzarella pie. Both were fantastic. Perfectly crisp crust, flavorful sauce, and delicious toppings. Our server was attentive and kind. 100% recommend.

I’ve never once been disappointed by a pie from Ernie’s—a real gem in Westville, and hands-down the best pizza you can find without heading all way downtown. Staff is always warm, friendly, and accommodating as they can be. Parking can be tight at peak hours, but once you’re inside—you’re in for a real treat!

Pizza was amazing! We got 3 pies all cooked to perfection. My favorite was the mozzarella with hot cherry peppers. Waitstaff was fantastic! She was super helpful & efficient.

Hands down my favorite pizza, I’ve been going here for over 20 years since I was kid. Highly recommend the meatball and cherry pepper pizza or the traditional pie. Every pizza has had the same level of consistency every time. The owner and staff are extremely passionate about what they do. I try to avoid “the top 3” as they are tourist traps these days. Ernie’s for life!

The pizza was great! Light and crispy- the meatball was definitely the way to go! Our server was so sweet and helpful as it was our first time trying it out! They only serve beer and wine which for us was enough. They do go heavy on the cheese-where we like more sauce. What a great experience!

This is my favorite pizza joint in new haven and west haven. Always delicious, always friendly. Just go try it if you never have, you won’t regret it. Seriously, it’s ALWAYS right.
My new obsession whit them is a white broccoli pizza with garlic and I just tried it with bacon last night. It was incredible.
