As someone who regularly smokes meats, I have high expectations and this place does not disappoint. Brisket (perfect texture and taste), pulled pork and chicken were stellar. Sad that they were out of beef ribs, but photos look amazing. Mac and cheese, baked beans, sweet potatoes, jambalaya and corn bread were all great. Definitely coming back for the beef ribs!

This food was amazing. The sides were fantastic, seasoned, brilliantly formed. The cornbread tasted otherworldly, excellent! I was disappointed with the ribs, weren’t tender and very rough. The brisket was mighty good although some of it was dry, other pieces weren’t. I give it a 4 stars because the sides were amazing, however the meat is supposed to be their glory and I was disappointed. Were in the tenderism era, this BBQ place has to do better with their meats. A++ on the sides! I spent $58.

THE SERVICE:
The employee answering the phone had good phone etiquette; my order was confirmed, she stated the total, and then provided the pickup time. Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately greeted with an array of tantalizing aromas. Two employees next to the counter not preparing food, looking disinterested, completely ignored my existence as I waited for service (created an unwelcoming atmosphere).
A couple minutes later a young lady comes from the back with a very pleasant disposition. She immediately greeted me, and then retrieved my order verifying all items. I knew she was the person I spoke with because of her excellent customer service.
There is limited seating if opting to eat in. The atmosphere is akin to a traditional bustling take out restaurant.
THE FOOD:
I ordered the “Blue’s Rib Combo” which comes with 3 sides and cornbread; I selected macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and dirty rice. I also ordered a side Chili. I was initially surprised a dinner would come with 3 sides, but once I saw the portion sizes I chuckled with understanding.
The Memphis and baby back ribs were seasoned well and smoked to perfection- the standout bites. The ribs were not “fall off the bone”, but they were tender and flavorful. The sweet with a pinch of tang BBQ sauce was delicious; I added the spicy sauce from the self service rounding out a very enjoyable bite. If sold in store, I would purchase these BBQ sauces.
The Texas beef ribs had a nice flavor profile, but you’d need to be part Wolverine to bite and enjoy your chew toy. These ribs have the potential to be delicious once they’re no longer prepared canine style.
The sides were satisfactory- nothing stood out as either outstanding or devastating. The Chili was very meaty, but underwhelming, because I couldn’t taste any spice. The cornbread was fluffy, buttery, and yummy.
The Value:
In spite of the poorly executed beef rib, I think the cash prices (see below) are reasonable given the ingredients. Although the side portions are dainty, having 3 creates a satiating meal.
Be Advised:
The menu states prices are for cash purchases, and your total will increase by 3.5% for non-cash payments. This perplexes me because I thought in Massachusetts businesses were restricted from placing surcharges for credit card payments. I’m not insinuating this business is being unlawful as I may have a misunderstanding. However, there’s a lack of transparency regarding this additional 3.5%, because there is no statement regarding merchant fees to assure credit card holders they’re not being overcharged.

We recently took our family of five to Tennessee’s BBQ in Braintree, and it was such a fun experience! From the moment we walked in, the place felt like the real deal. We ordered the Family Pak, which is supposed to feed four, but it was perfect for us with a little extra for our hungry crew. Ribs, pulled pork, and a spread of four sides came out looking mouthwatering.
Our little baby couldn’t wait to try the ribs! You could see the excitement on her face as she eyed the plate, and we couldn’t blame her. Then, our older ones got into the sauce like pros, and let’s just say there was a lot of laughing (and some pretty epic BBQ messes) at our table!
But oh, the food! The flavors were smoky and rich, exactly what you hope for in good BBQ. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone, the pulled pork was packed with flavor, and every side we tried hit the spot. The only little thing? The smoky aroma from the kitchen filled up the whole lobby and left us smelling like BBQ for the rest of the day—but honestly, it was worth it for such a great meal. If you’re craving real BBQ, this is the place to go!

Went to Tennessee BBQ for the first time in 3 years. Got sick 3 years ago. I decided to try it again. I got a simple brisket sandwich. Ate the sandwich and it was terrible. Got sick again. Killer corn bread was burnt on 2 sides. Cucumber salad was good. 1of 3 items was good. Two thirds was crap. Never again.

Out. Of. This. World. Got a quarter Caribbean chicken with corn bread, Mac and cheese, and dirty rice. Chicken was flavorful, huge portion even as a quarter. Dirty rice was so flavorful and a bit spicy, mac had great texture (not too wet,) and cornbread was supple and fresh. All of this is even more impressive considering I paid less than 15$ for the plate and a drink.

First time here. Not a fancy place to sit and eat, but we were there to pick up and bring the food home. We tried a platter with 3 different meats, baked beans, smashed potatoes and corn bread. Every bite was more delicious than the one before! I loved the pulled pork, a companion loved the ribs. The potatoes were so good, I’ll be dreaming of them. Another companion tried the different sauces, and declared them all good but actually enjoyed the baked beans sauce the most. We’ll be back and I highly recommend you trying this restaurant if you like BBQ

We went there Friday night at 8PM with 15-20 friends and I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency that the crew was able to handle our group . We go out every Friday and eat. Most places get a little overwhelmed with the sudden burst of 20 people at 8PM but the place was ready and we were eating within 10 minutes. Super happy and I’d say they were the best ever in service. The food was fantastic i ordered the sampler and didn’t regret it . I will definitely be trying out the whole menu and the place has easily become one of my favorites The killer corn bread made me a fan and quickly a favorite. I hope they expand to more places and especially to the south shore where I am from. At first I thought the dining room wasn’t big enough but it was plenty. We travel every weekend and try different restaurants and foods and will be back again for sure . 163 The sauces were fantastic and the dirty rice was delicious. Usually one of our group has a complaint but there wasn’t one which was surprising. You can’t make everyone happy but Tennessee and the staff nailed it very happy and satisfied The atmosphere was fantastic

Brisket is dry and tough somehow and lacks flavor. Got the sliced brisket sandwich, I love brisket, probably the worst I’ve had. Unfortunate as I live nearby but next time I want Brisket I’ll be going to Smokehouse in Somerville. Sandwich is 9.95, added a side for 4 dollars, sandwich and one side 13.95. Got this miserable lack luster little piece of “killer cornbread”. I really wanted to like this place, given it two fair shots, both times profoundly disappointing.
