Without a doubt the finest dining experience I’ve ever had in the district area. Everything about Le Vieux is nothing short of a wonderful experience. Warm comforting atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, valet parking and attentive coatroom services, wonderful wines and cocktails and the food -ahhhh! THE FOOD!!! On our last visit my companion was thrilled by the Filet De Porc Enveloppé De Bacon and I was simply blown away by the magnificent Foie De Veau Lyonnaise. We followed this up with their sublime and delectable house made Creme Brulee. The cozy dining room was like stepping in to another era from a bygone time period and this was not lost on other patrons seated nearby, as we enjoyed friendly light banter with our neighboring table, a very friendly couple from Switzerland. We will be back again and again, and are already planning our next special occasion for a reason to visit this charming & delightful Bethesda institution. VIVA LE VIEUX LOGIS, long may they remain!

The food is good, though I’m no judge of that, not being much of a food type. I did notice that the presentation of the food on the plates was very nice. I have to say that I’m mostly giving it 5 stars because of the pleasant staff. This was my second or third visit. My wife and her sister love the place.

Always welcoming. Service is friendly and accommodating. Food is fabulously French. My wife and I are not snoody foodies, and we’ve always enjoyed dinner a few times a year. Would go more often if we lived closer. I recommend any chicken entree, any salad or French staples.

A great French restaurant with a decor that really stands out. It’s quiet, relaxing. The service is amazing, and the menu has a lot to offer. It is a very good choice for family dinner, or special occasions. You will enjoy a weekend night out there. Specially if you want to try out French specialities. The wine selection is great and overall I recommend this place. I enjoyed going there.

We picked this little Bistro in Bethesda for my birthday dinner. We had a phenomenal experience. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, they made us feel welcome from the first greeting and our daughters (8 and 10) were treated as two young ladies and they loved it. That being said I would not recommend it for families with kids, it is definitely an ambiance where quiet, good conversation and good manners are appreciated. We will visit again!

This restaurant experience boasts the classic charm of fancy French dining but with a friendly staff and accessibility unique to the food industry. The bistro-like setting is free of stiff formality and can fit for both special and informal occasions.

The food is of course delicious and will speak for itself. I will say that there are two strong points with the cuisine. The sauce for every dish is masterful and really compliments the flavors. The other strong point is creativity. The canard confit was plated beautifully to compliment its sweet and tender taste. Chef Christian also took something like the classic Napoleon Pastry but added a twist of strawberry custard and other unique flavors to completely warp an appetizing dish into something bold yet still delectable. His deserts are my favorite and one of many good examples of his inspiration!

Food was over-cooked and oily. For whatever reason the plates all came out really hot. No one described the menu to us properly. My sister even found a piece of cardboard in her food. They comped the dish but it didn’t matter… the damage was already done. As someone trying to follow a healthy ketogenic diet, this place has a lot of work to do! Best of luck to the owners and kitchen staff to improve the food and quality of service!

What happened to this place? It used to have so much personality, and the menu was different. Now, it looks plain, decorated with cheap TJ Maxx items, the service is pitiful and the food is okay. .

We arrived at 9:05 for a 9p reservation to find the bus boy outside telling us that they were going to close of us, it was very strange. He came inside and without washing his hands, he turned all our cups and began to serve us… Nasty!

Then him and the hostess stood in the corner looking over at us and he was shaking his head. It was the weirdest, most uncomfortable vibe I have experienced in a restaurant.

They must have changed owners. We have gone here a lot and spent big money here, but never again. They lost about 8 clients in one night.

Don’t go here!!!
