There are a lot of quality restaurants in Lennox & the area but IMO this is an absolute standout. Across from the beach watching the waves crash, live chill music, lovely fit out & happy friendly staff, it’s an absolute vibe! We had a sundowners sitting (super good value btw) with drinks, snacks & music then stayed for the Steak & Frittes (also excellent quality and value). We loved the food so much we went back the next day for the market fish in a corn chowder. Honestly one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten!! Perfectly cooked fresh Spanish Mackerel in the most beautifully refined chowder. It was a 12 out of 10!!
Wine list was good too. I’ll definitely be booking in on my next visit to beautiful Lennox Head

Pork scotch fillet with star anise and black garlic and crispy shitake was amazing. A must have. The octopus with kimchi was amazing but not crispy enough. Felt like it was cooked and sat for a while. But the flavours of everything was just delightful. Meals take awhile but it was busy and on a Sunday.

The oysters were a visual masterpiece and tasted like the ocean — fresh, cold, and pure.
The scallops, stacking-style, were delicate and elegant.
The octopus with Korean peanut pesto was our favourite — smoky, tender, packed with flavour.
Even the sourdough with umami butter was incredible.
And the Taco Margarita? Bright, bold, and totally unforgettable.

The food was delicious. A special thank you to Ellise, Pam and the rest of the staff for making us welcome again.
Update: Fast forward a week and I couldn’t resist a relaxing Sunday lunch.. once again I was not disappointed. Pam is a superstar and a great asset to the establishment. Her attention to detail is quite exceptional and has delivered great service for all three occasions I have been.
Already looking forward to next Saturday dinner at Shelter Lennox Head.

Visited on Saturday and had a fantastic experience. We booked the 2pm sitting and although the venue was lively, it never felt crowded-you could comfortably enjoy conversation without feeling cramped or overhearing others. Our waitress was excellent: warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. My dietary requirements were handled effortlessly, which was greatly appreciated. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the fish was delicious, perfectly paired with the greens. Service timing was spot on, and we were even treated to complimentary drinks due to a minor in-house error. A beautiful experience overall-thank you, Team Shelter. We’ll definitely be back.

Our first time patronising the establishment. Perfectly made food all around. I had the pork rib eye which was cooked superbly; tender and juicy with a touch caramelised. My partner had the burnt beetroot with ginger sambal. Again, it was put together well to make it nice and unique. Dessert was the dark chocolate mousse which was again, perfectly put together with a genuine dark, chocolaty flavour. We certainly hope to return again.

I went with family for me Birthday. Being our first time at Shelter and everything sounded so yummy on the menu. We all paid $90 each which got us a taste plate of almost everything on the menu. Every mouthful was heaven and worth every cent. The seafood was top quality

Great atmosphere. They had some beautiful live music the night i was there.
