I don’t know who is leaving good reviews because the food is not at all good or satisfying! I suspect many are fake reviews. I ordered chow mein and it is just noodles and meat….no basic veggies even and just tasted overwhelmingly like peanut sauce. My 8 yr old daughter said it tasted like a dish you would make to trick your dog to eat it because it tasted like peanut butter lol. I asked the waitress if it was possible to add veggies as it was very plain and she said “nope sorry we can’t” but with an attitude that wasn’t sorry at all. Just in general her demeanor was rude. Apparently they have NO vegetables besides corn in the building smh. My husband and son got orange and general chicken, they both tasted the same, bland and rubbery. My daughter got Ramen and said it was OK but the eggs and beef looked nasty and undercooked but I am not personally a fan of Ramen so nothing to compare it to. It was evident we didn’t like the food based on the fact none of our plates looked touched and we did not want to go boxes. They definitely didn’t seem to care whether we enjoyed the food or not…not that I expect a discount but if I owned a restaurant I would want to know how I could improve or if a customer was dissatisfied. They didn’t even ask if everything was alright because I would have been honest. We left hungry and spent over $100 there and will never go back. The sushi rolls were meh. Limited menu options, no veggies and just plain gross. Hands down the worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here.

Very slept on place here in mountain home, it’s easy to miss from the road I will say but if you do stop in you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The food is very very fresh and high quality. The staff is friendly! Very extensive menu. I hope more people stop in and give it a shot. I had the general tso’s chicken which was executed brilliantly.

I’ve been to Tokyo Restaurant in Mountain Home several times now, and every visit has been wonderful. The service is always warm, friendly, and attentive — they really make you feel welcome.
Their barbecue ramen is one of my favorites: flavorful broth, generous portions, and perfectly cooked toppings. The sushi is also consistently fresh and delicious. You can really tell they put effort into the quality of the food.
Overall, this is one of the best places to eat in Mountain Home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great Japanese food and excellent service!

food is overpriced especially considering what you are getting. we ordered the crab rangoons, sweet and sour chicken, and poke bowl. the first two were definitely just frozen food reheated, while the poke bowl had so many crunchy onions on it it was all i could taste.

the service was fine. there was a younger woman (i think named Kenzie) who was very loud and kept coming in and out of the kitchen hollering about a car and putting a boot on it. as we were paying our bill, a family of about 7 came in and she loudly sighed and said “why are there so many people?” definitely not a very warm or welcoming energy. she also kept complaining about another server they had just hired, again super loudly and in the lobby where everyone could here. just so unprofessional and unenjoyable to be around.

skip this place. huge waste of time and money.

The food is absurdly priced for what you get. Their specialty sushi rolls are $15 each which is a few dollars high for the area, which is fine if your serving a high quality roll, but their rolls are anything but. Their rolls are mostly rice with very little meat. Honestly the sushi at albertson’s is better (which is an insane thing to actually be able to say). We also got the combo meat chow mein which was also $15, there was only 10 small pieces of meat total and the dish was half warm and half cold like it was reheated. The “crab stars” Don’t even have imitation crab meat in them and they cost $9. They charged us $3.45 each for soft drinks and didn’t ever offer a refill to us, but you better get a soft drink instead of just water because their water tastes like they scooped it out of an over-chlorinated pool. Then they handed us the check and a to-go box half way through our meal like they were trying to rush us out of the restaurant even though the restaurant was almost completely empty. This place is such a rip-off.

Addicted to the Japanese boa buns! Seriously they are SOOO good.
Actually sat down for date night & tried their tempura shrimp and fried rice very good. (Stole some of hubs… ) I had the Szechuan Beef Raman SOOO good! Definitely will get the extra marinaded eggs next time for 1 is not enough! (Had to hold back from eating both halves to show 1 for the picture ) They were perfect!
Also love their tea pots kept out tea hot the entire meal
Only a 4 for service for the long wait on food… They definitely were short handed tonight but they did try their best to still have good service.

We had such a fantastic experience here! I ordered the Mango Hawaii sushi roll and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. For my entrée, I had General’s Chicken with fried rice, and it was perfect: crispy, saucy, and with just the right amount of spice. My husband and daughter both ordered ramen, and they couldn’t stop raving about it—it was rich, comforting, and full of flavor.

On top of all that, the food came out fast and piping hot, which made the whole experience even better. It’s honestly the first time in a long while that we left a restaurant completely satisfied, and that says a lot. Everything from the food to the overall experience was wonderful. We’ll definitely be coming back!

It was so expensive for a plate of noodles with two meats after… I paid extra for a meat combo, not to mention the rum water tasted awful. The sushi rolls had a sour taste. We paid $64 for cold food with a weird taste.

– Cannot recommend at this time –

Allow me to preface this with saying the management team is trying their best with what they got. For that reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of of 1, hoping things may be able to turn around for the better.

Food: Portion sizes were abysmal for what actually matters. Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Rice and what was received was absolutely lacking when it came to protein. Maybe 4 oz of chicken, at best. Not only was it lackluster, the chicken itself seemed to be premade and shredded, no way possible cooked to order. Dish came out suspiciously fast, roughly 5 minutes after ordering. Once I saw the meat, I understood why. For nearly $15, no sides included, this was completely unacceptable.

This is also assuming you get what you ordered. Individual I was alongside received the wrong type of protein with their ramen. Instead of chicken they received pork, which was likely a blessing considering the chicken I was served.

Service: Slightly under average. Seated rather quickly, received first round of drinks and was able to place order all in a timely manner. However from there, it took approximately 20 or so minutes before anyone came by to ask about the meals. No refills were offered. Eventually a manager came by and asked how things were. She listened to our grievances and feedback, seemingly understanding about what was said, she then claimed she would pass it along. She was considerate enough to take care of the Chicken Teriyaki meal, and for that I appreciate them.

Atmosphere: Was clean. Nothing else stood out or seems worth mentioning.

I beg the owners of this establishment to take a good look at what you’re serving and have a heartfelt conversation about your future. For the price, this is absolutely a pass. I hope they are able to correct their issues and move forward. Always nice to have more local options, unfortunately at this time I cannot recommend this one.
