Here’s the deal. If service matters more to you, this might not be the place. But if you care more about the food like I do, I truly recommend it. Every dish I tried was good and I enjoyed it. My favorites were the Lobster Bites, the Rasta Pasta with Lobster, the Mac and Cheese, and the drinks, especially the Pink Lychee. The Oxtail was good too, just not as memorable as the others.
Now for the service. You definitely need a little patience. I really hope the restaurant takes a look at their reviews and improves this part quickly. They have the chance to be a great spot. My suggestion is to increase staff and make sure everyone is trained well.
The ambience is beautiful. And honestly, even with the service issues, I would still come back. They’ve only been open for three months, so I’m giving them some grace.
I opted for the Fried Conch Hors d’oeuvres , the Oxtail Dinner, & a side of macaroni and cheese.
The conch was tender and juicy with a dipping sauce. The Oxtails were equally tender and were served with rice and peas and macaroni salad, the macaroni and cheese was absolutely amazing (must try).
If you are having a birthday dinner this is definitely a place to celebrate as the DJ announces your birthday to music and sets a party atmosphere.
The restaurant is a little pricey and gratuity is included but worth every penny.
I had the oxtail with grits and it was pretty good my friend had the cat fish and grits which also was good. Drinks were on point as well! Strawberry lemon drop was really good. The only thing that was a bummer was that we came during brunch hours expecting a DJ as advertised but DJ didn’t come on untill the end of brunch and he wasn’t good. We Was a little disappointed about that but enjoyed the food none the less.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. A few small tweaks could make it flawless, but overall, Casa de Amore is a standout. I’ll definitely be back!
The food was decent, but if you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food, I don’t think this is the place. The jerk pasta, or the Rasta pasta, was a twist of a different type of jerk. The sauce was made was barbecue sauce. The pasta was good with out the sauce. We wanted old-fashioned jerk. It was good, The lobster was good . The filet mignon was decent, but it wasn’t overcooked . The Haitian rice did not taste like Haitian rice. It was not properly seasoned. The asparagus was amazing. Overall, this restaurant is not bad. It is worth a second go around. The ambience is fantastic. The decor is impressive. This is a good place for large gatherings of all kinds. The chef came to our table and was very attentive. The young lady who came to serve our table did an amazing job she saved the day if she did not come, we would have walked out the restaurant .
My friend chose Casa De Amore to celebrate her birthday. I arrived a bit late for our 8:30 PM reservation, and unfortunately, there was no immediate availability for our party. We were directed to the bar while we waited. I ordered a strawberry lemon drop, which tasted good, though at $16 it was definitely on the pricey side.
As we waited and enjoyed our drinks, the DJ’s music volume fluctuated from low to medium, which became a little distracting—especially given how busy the restaurant was. Overall, the menu is on the expensive side, making this more suitable for a date night or special occasion.
Later, the DJ announced that the speakeasy upstairs was opening. I asked the host if we could take our food upstairs since it was after 9 PM. She initially told us the space wasn’t open yet and that food service wasn’t available in the speakeasy without a server. Shortly after, a waiter mentioned he was willing to help us, and the bartender suggested we place our food order online via a QR code—which was surprising.
I ordered the Asian calamari with bang bang sauce, turkey griot with djon djon black rice, pasta salad, and fried plantains topped with pickles. Eventually, around 10 PM, tables opened up downstairs, and we were able to be seated.
They eventually agreed to seat us, though we weren’t brought to our table until around 10:15 PM. The bartender mentioned she would bring the food, but shortly after, a waiter came over and introduced himself. Before he could continue, the bartender interrupted and said she had it covered, which already felt a bit disorganized.
When the food arrived, it was warm rather than hot. The calamari was missing the bang bang sauce, and my friend’s dish was missing the plantains. We also weren’t offered water or glasses at the table. When the manager came over, I tried to calmly express my disappointment. Unfortunately, his response felt dismissive, as he suggested we couldn’t make up our minds and asked what it was we actually wanted. That interaction was frustrating and did not feel attentive to the concerns we were raising.
My friend asked for the missing sauce, which was eventually brought out. The bartender checked in one more time to see if we needed anything else.
Overall, Casa De Amore delivers on ambiance—the space is stylish, chic, and visually appealing. However, the customer service and coordination fell short, and the experience felt unorganized. With better communication and more attentive service, this restaurant has the potential to match its beautiful setting.
Our waitress was also kind and patient. She suggested Pink Lychee drink, which is what I ordered and it was delicious! The flavors blend beautifully. My food was also delicious.. everyone enjoyed their meals. They came out with lights and had a birthday song playing.
The only complaint is asking for something like extra spoon for my friend to try some of my dessert and we never got the spoon. But believe will get better since they are fairly new.
Overall, It was a really nice experience, I enjoyed my meal, and the place is beautiful.. Will definitely go again!
