Fabulous food. Thick, juicy burgers. And whatever the tasty, peppery sauce is (photo) that comes with the onion rings is AMAZING. Very friendly service. Worth the drive from Denham Springs and Watson.

Amazing!!! I contemplated getting 2 burgers but I got one to split with my son, and I’m glad I did because I was full off of that half. The cook came from the back and told me hello and asked if everything tasted good. Really clean bathrooms. I watched as another guest left, the guy working the register (assuming he is the owner) cleaned the guest’s table immediately. After we were done eating our meal, the owner helped me dump my trays and asked if my son could have some ice cream, which my son enjoyed very much. All around pleasant atmosphere, we will be back.

If you’re craving a classic, dialed-in burger in Denham Springs, Shake 16 hits the mark. I ordered a hamburger and a side of Shake Fries, and both were genuinely excellent.
Food:
The hamburger is everything you want from a no-nonsense burger: a well-seasoned patty with a good sear, melty cheese, crisp lettuce, and a soft bun that actually holds up. The balance is spot-on—savory, a little smoky, and not weighed down with sauce. The Shake Fries deserve their own shout-out. They’re hot, crispy, and generously seasoned—think bold, salty-savory with a touch of spice that keeps you nibbling long after you’re “done.” Portions are generous.
Service & Atmosphere:
Service is friendly and efficient. Food came out hot and fresh without a long wait. The vibe is casual and clean—easy for a quick lunch, weeknight dinner, or a relaxed bite with friends or kids.
Value:
Prices are fair for the quality and portion size. You can get full without breaking the bank, and the fries are big enough to share.
What to know before you go:
• Customization: Ask for add-ons like bacon or grilled onions; they elevate the burger without overpowering it.
• Fries tip: If you like extra crunch, request the Shake Fries “extra crispy.”
• Heat levels: The seasoning on the fries is flavorful; if you’re spice-sensitive, ask for light seasoning or sauce on the side.
• Timing: It can get busy around dinner; earlier or later visits mean faster seating and pickup.
Bottom line:
Shake 16 nails the basics—and that’s a compliment. Great burger, standout fries, quick service, and solid value. I’ll be back for the Shake Fries alone. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I had a great lunch here at Shack 16. The food was hot, fresh and tasted great. Two workers even checked on us while we were eating to make sure we liked our orders and had everything we needed. That’s customer service! Shack 16 gets an A+ rating from me and if you haven’t been, I highly recommend you try them!

Food is worth the drive. Best homemade burger away from home. Fries, Onion Rings & Cheese Options. Building is work in progress, a lot better than it was before new ownership.

The SpongeBob fans will understand this: “that guy behind the grill is no square when it comes to cooking”. These burgers are an absolute good: food for the soul. Seriously, this isn’t some touristy place with fake nutria and alligator displays. This is a simple little place with a few tables, a loud door, a couple of somebody’s deer mounts on the wall, and the best down-home burgers in the area. This isn’t some gourmet junk with Romanian pretzel buns and Jarlsberg sheep’s milk cheese. This is a fry-grilled BURGER, done RIGHT, and you will not be left hungry when you’re done. Grill-toasted bun, standard fixins, and a patty seasoned just right and done just right. It stays together right, and it’s obviously a fresh made patty and not some premanufactured frozen little beef disc. It’s plenty of hand-formed ground beef, scorched just right without being overdone and definitely juicy yet somehow not “greasy”. In fact, the bacon, the onion rings, the fries, everything is that perfect level of crispy and salty but not overdone. Someone has it down to an art. The onion ring batter is just right, too. Not poofy, but fully coated, with a nice crunch, and excellently seasoned. It’s a few minutes north of Watson, which is a few minutes north of Denham Springs, but it’s worth the drive out there. For me, it’s between here and the deer camp, which is how I stumbled in there the first time a few weeks ago. I went back with my kids today. Friendly people, nice comfortable place, perfect burgers. I hear they have good crawfish, too, but I haven’t tried those.

It’s a little hole in the wall shop that has a very small menu. Therefore, what they do make is phenomenal . I have a Gluten intolerance so I got the Cheeseburger salad without croutons. The burger was cooked to perfection. My brothers love coming here for the traditional burgers as well.
