Ok, it’s a little run down & a little sketchy, but that’s not a fear factor for us.
It has great decor inside, including many football clubs. There is bar, bar table, and counter-like seating, as well as a dining table area. It is not a large space.
So the bartender told us about a weird restriction for their license. We were ordering cocktails, so we couldn’t transact that sale at the bar. We had to sit at a table away from the bar to order and received the cocktails. It wasn’t a goof. 2 couples came in, and one of the 4 had to stand away from the 3 at the bar because he had a mixed drink. Weird zoning laws??
Still, it was a good, unique experience and we would return.

Been wanting to try it out. $21.00 for 1 piece of cod and French fries is pricey in my opinion. The waitress forgot to bring our appetizer, but remembered when she brought out our main entrees. I guess better late than never??? The place is in an older building and needs some TLC.
Would we return? Maybe on a Monday when it’s ‘AYCE’ fish and chips for $21.00.

We were looking for an option for Lenten dining, and discovered a fun pub with great food and beer. FYI, it’s a British pub, so the sides were unexpected discoveries. Loved the British ambiance. We arrived at lunchtime during the week. The food was delicious!

A rare, English pub hidden in China Town. Inside there is a dark, hole-in-the-wall vibe. I got the traditional fish and chips dish and my husband ordered the Banger in a Bun, with a side of chips. The food was delicious – no notes. For drinks, I ordered a Snake Bite, which is pear cider and Guinness and husband ordered Harp on tap. Drinks were delicious.

Hi. I think that your place is great.
However, if I could make some suggestions to improving the outside of your establishment to make it look less run down.
1) Did you know that you have several bullet holes in the windows facing Spring Mountain? Yes, three.
2) Also, two of them have graffiti on them.
3) Both of the lanterns look pretty damaged.
4) Some of the glass on your side door facing east is broken.
5) The British flag lens on your sign facing west is missing.
6) The lettering on the sign on your back wall could use a fresh coat of paint.
Keep up the good food and drinks though.

This place actually surprised me. A friend of mine wanted to try the place out because he was wanting English pub food. We walked in and it looked like a typical pub and I didn’t have high hopes for the food. The server, who was also the bartender was very informative if the menu and was able to provide recommendations. In the end, we ordered the steak and mushroom pie, chicken and leek pie, and the garlic and mushrooms app, We were blown away by the freshness and tastiness the food. Anybody looking for English pub food must try this place.

Sadly, On July 4th, 2024, after nearly 30 years of service to British hospitality and the community, the Crown & Anchor closed… And this came one day after the GM of the other, smaller location spoke on how important and good it was that minimum wage went up by .75 cents per hour… How ironic. Oh well, close a business, save a buck or two… My heartfelt thanks to all there, customers and employees that I have had the pleasure to know over the last 17 years of patronage. We love Kilkenny beer and few places have it on tap. We were in town for the weekend, did a Google search and this spot came up. It has a real mainly locals vibe and they went all out with the pub from across the pond theme. We had Kilkenny, ice cold and perfect, along with a sausage roll, scotch egg and fries. The fries were steak fries and the sausage roll was solid, beer soaking up fare. We had the best time playing darts and getting buzzed! The service is fantastic, our server was a total sweetheart and very chill. Totally fun spot, would definitely return.
