Penang is great for many occasions. Franchise restaurant brought to you in the Lodi Hackensack area! Come here for the favorites, Hainanese Chicken and Pad Thai. There are also many other dishes that have Chinese influence. The staff do their best to assist you in English as well as other Asian languages.

They don’t cook meats well. They use poor cuts, which can be the most tasty but only if cooked properly. Their beef is unusually very tough and flavorless. Their waitstaff take special care to make sure that they don’t injure uneaten food. In my experience there is only one reason restaurants do this. Draw your own conclusions. They charge a delivery fee on top of which you have to tip the delivery person, which isn’t a problem except for the fact that they are super aggro about it. I’m giving you a modest but fair tip in thanks for delivering my food. I’m not putting you through college and am not looking for a mob style shakedown every time I order takeout. Can’t speak on the authenticity of the food but as is standard for a chain restaurant I suspect that it’s heavily Americanized.

Fresh, tasty food. Great, personable staff. I really enjoyed the Thai basil noodle. It had a hint of spice but wasn’t too spicy. I added the eggplant and it was tender and delicious. The sticky rice with mango was amazing as was the fried ice cream.

Went to celebrate my birthday with some friends and family. The food was amazing as usual. However at the end a busboy/ server comes to our table and says “yo yo what’s up my boy” to us. I’m not sure if our African American heritage made him feel this would be appropriate, however the prices on the bill didn’t reflect the level of closeness he must have felt towards us to have done that. It was unacceptable, stereotypical, and embarrassing. On the other hand the food was great.

Went out of my way to try this restaurant. The food was terrible, too spicy and no veggies in sight! The free soup had a terrible snot like consistency. The main course we’re 6 pieces of chicken with half a cucumber. When I told the server the food was too spicy to eat he did not offer to change my dish instead hen offered iced water. Avoid

Awesome food. Great ambience…friendly server. We were given some great suggestions and the combinations were great. Drinks are slightly costly…but try to go during Happy hours. Had Zombie…and gave a superb kick….again the server recommend.

Today was the first time I ordered from Penang Malaysian & Thai Cuisine and I have to say they met my expectations if not exceeded them.
I ordered the chicken pad Thai, the chicken and green curry, wonton soup, pork fried rice and a black rice dessert. Not only did they deliver sooner then they stated but it was delish!!!! and the portions were pretty large.
I look forward to ordering from you again though, I think I will pay a visit and experience the dining room!
Thank you!

I’ve been here a couple times and the food is always good + excellent service. Happy hour drink specials are really good (I always get the zombie). Whole red snapper is a bit pricey and none of the entrée comes with a side order. I would recommend this place.

Good food, but be careful what you order. Not everything agrees with your stomach. However, the place is clean, the service is good, and the decor is very modern- it is a little pricey but it’s definately a great find. Recommend!

I am a big fan of Panang Malaysian in Boston, Chinatown. However this New York variant really just didn’t meet my expectations. They did have my usual favorites like Roti Canai, but lacked some of the Asian deserts (like the various ice and red bean desserts) that the Boston version had. Maybe they were trying too hard to meet NYC sensibilities and tastes? The Boston store felt more authentic and the customers were largely students whereas the NYC branch the exact opposite. Overall the decor and service were good but I was really hoping the food selection could meet my expectations.
