UPDATE!!!
We are extremely disappointed with the service we received Friday night on 2-13-26. We were treated horribly. From the hostess to the waitress. We sat and waited for a waitress for 10 min as we watch waitress take care of other customers. They weren’t busy at all but we felt as though it was purposely being done. After we stared at a waitress she then comes over with attitude. When our order were delivered to our table by her she proceeded to push the plates in front of us without saying a word not once. Never asked how our food was, if we needed anything or even a refill. It definitely felt extremely RACIST in there tonight and because of that I will not spend my money with this place ever again. They may only want Hispanics in their establishment. SMH.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in Gwinnett County, Las Islitas Mexican Bar is an absolute hidden gem. Fresh off a trip from Isla Mujeres, I had been craving the fried red snapper I fell in love with on vacation—and this place did not disappoint!
The fish was fried to perfection and served with a house-made garlic butter that took it over the top. You can even have the garlic butter poured directly over the fish (which I’m definitely trying next time).
Everything on the plate was full of flavor—even the chicken was juicy and seasoned just right. From start to finish, this meal hit the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Catalina is hands down one of the best servers out there. She’s always extremely attentive and makes sure we have everything we need every time we place our orders. Her service is fast, friendly, and she truly cares about the experience of her customers. Honestly, all the other servers don’t compare to Catalina — she goes above and beyond every time, and that’s what makes her stand out as the best.

Overall a great restaurant. I ordered the carne asada with shrimp and guacamole on the side and everything tasted amazing and very flavorful. Great environment and the employees are supper friendly. Maria was the waitress who served me and she was super nice and very attentive and i %100 recommend.

This use to be my favorite restaurant I had the worst service ever I order an aguachiles verdes I could not eat them they were to salty I told the server and she ask me if I want her to let the cook know she never ask if I wanted something else I ask for the manager they said they had no manager this was very unprofessional

My family and I visited Atlanta this weekend and had been waiting months to come back to this restaurant. We loved the food! But service was HORRIBLE !! Not sure what her name was but on the receipt it says “RUBY” well I never leave bad reviews always only good ones but this server deserves one. Well when she came up she did not introduce herself. She started with “what can I get you guys to drink” when we finally ordered she brought the food out and said “enjoy” after eating neither my cousin or I had drinks left but when we looked for her she was over at the bar area on her phone so I got up with both of our cups and had to ask for a refill. After she brought it probably 20 minutes later we had already finished our food. Another lady came to ask us if everything was okay and we asked for the check. Well when the original server finally brought the check she brought it all together. I stated “oh it was separate” and she rudely responded “oh you didn’t tell me that.” Then I said “well you didn’t ask us, the other lady came and asked us if we needed anything.” It was not the other ladys job to continue to ask me further information only if we needed something. The server is supposed to come and ask if the check was separate. So anyways she ended up bringing them and to my surprise the tip was added. We were 4 people And the tip was added. That did not bother me only the fact that if they are going to add the tip make sure service is better or at least more attentive. After all my family and I enjoyed the food it was great !! Just the service can be way better!

I had lunch at Las Islitas. Their chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered a small, seafood paella and thank goodness I ordered the small; it was so much, delicious food! The rice was cooked just right and every bite was packed w seafood. It was a great lunch, and very reasonably priced for what I got.
