Win! Win! Win! Loved the fresh, “homemade” calzones. Service was informative about choices and excellent! So glad we found this gem!!

Extremely kind Manager came by and spoke to us. Staff was kind and food was so amazingly fresh. It’s all made in house I believe and the variety is great! I’ve never had figs in a calzone, but I loved it! I got figgy piggy and it tasted great! A little sweet a little savory. My husband got the sunny side/sunshine one (can’t remember name) and that one was FANTASTIC! The ranch that came with it was the cherry on top. Pops available were different than your run of the mill options. Lucky cola was bomb and I’m not really a coke person. We would definitely come again!

We stopped in today, loved the calzones so much! I ordered the Meet Me In St. Louie, the man ordered the Pancho Villa. I think mine was better lol. They offer alcoholic beverages as well. It was pretty dead when we stopped so that’s why I gave the service and atmosphere a four. I can’t really determine the exact rating until I stop back on a busy day. Which we definitely will so I can update this… I did get to see a salad (the customer ordered) and it looked wonderful. If you like calzones, I highly suggest that you check out Sauce on the Side!!!

I discovered SotS a couple years ago and the food has been outstanding every time. Their salads are refreshingly different compared to most salad offerings by Midwest restaurants, and the calzones are always satisfying. My family’s favorite calzone is the Costanza.
Dining area is clean and staff are professional. The manager has helped me recover points every time the rewards system goes mental and looses my earned points. They didn’t write the crumby software, so no blame is on them for the rewards redemption issues.

Salad was excellent with super fresh ingredients. Canzone was good & nice to have with a big salad. Great selection to chose from! Two of us split the smaller salad & it was plenty. They seem to go out of their way to be sure you are happy. Also, we appreciated having linen napkins & real plates. If I was not in the mood for a canzone I would go there for the salad anytime! Plus, you can get meat in the salad! Just a good place to go as an alternate to fast food if you are looking for a quick, maybe lighter dinner or lunch.

This place delivers phenomenal food and service! We will definitely be back again. The service was personalized and exceptional—Ben at the counter gave us an excellent overview of the calzones and shared his favorites. Following his advice, we ordered The Duke, which was the ultimate winner of the day. Highly recommend this spot for great food and helpful staff!

An excellent experience! The location was easily found and very accessible. We went on a Saturday at around 2 pm and the atmosphere was very laid back. I don’t know what it’s like during a lunch or dinner rush, but the staff was very friendly and helpful with it being our first time. They were happy to offer suggestions and walk us through the menu to consider substitutions.
I got the Roasty Toasty, which was really good, especially if you like ricotta and pesto. It was rather heavy, so I’d consider getting it with red sauce in addition to the pesto. I started out with a fork and knife but ended up holding the second half like a sandwich. Both methods worked just fine.
My husband got the Meat Me in St. Louie, and the bite that I stole was very nice. Good flavors, and the red sauce cuts the heartiness of the meat very well.
We also tried the Buffalo Chicken Bite Side with ranch. We had our toddler with us, and it wasn’t too spicy for him to enjoy. The good quality and flavor of the ranch felt like it was made in-house, though I didn’t ask, so I can’t say for sure.
Finally, the soda. Instead of the typical brands, they have Excel brand as their fountain options. I’d never had it before, so I had to give it a shout-out as being an excellent beverage. I didn’t miss the name brands.
I would absolutely go again and recommend to others as well.

I tried the Duke and the cocka-doodle noodle calzones. Both were delicious. I ordered an apple pie dessert calzone as well, and really liked it. I think if some ice cream or icing to dip it in was available, that would’ve taken it to the next level.

I didn’t think I liked calzones til I ate here. Theirs have such a nice outside that stays nicely crisp and isn’t too dense or doughy at all. You can tell it’s a scratch kitchen with lots of variety and excellent sauces. They’re also really friendly too!
