Huge place with plenty of seating for large groups. Went there for a weeknight dinner. Ordered pork buns which were sweet and not to our liking. The fish fillet is good but, we have eaten more flavorful ones at other sichuan restaurants. Everything came out quickly without much wait and the staff was courteous.

I enjoyed my meal, and the service was good!
I liked the red bean buns and shrimp balls! Everything we got was good with huge portions — so many leftovers!
I had the SiChuan beef and shrimp (dry pot). I enjoyed them, and it was a great meal! I recommend coming for a wide variety of Chinese food!

Perfect timing that my family and I ate this place today and another Dimsum restaurant close to this location yesterday so we were able to compare. It’s night and day for me. The staff here is incredibly a lot friendlier and attentive. They have a ready smile and expressed gratitude for our visit. They are more polite also. Food wise, they have far and wide better variety. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained. Parking is also easy.

The servers are friendly and courteous. If you eat dim sum at this restaurant be prepared to pay high prices. Not that their dim sum prices are high. They are just not honest in charging customers. Dim sum prices have at least 6 level : small, medium, large , extra large, special etc. This restaurant most of the time charge customers higher prices. For small price items they charge you medium price. For medium items they charge large price, I caught them charging two levels higher prices. I was furious. I have been going to dim sum restaurants for more than 50 years I know how dim sum prices are charged. Unfortunately most dim sum restaurants are not honest. They usually charge higher prices, meaning when the dim sum servers stamp on your dim sum card, they stamp on the higher level. The worst thing is almost no dim sum restaurants post list of the dim sum prices. So when they stamp on the dim sum card with higher levels almost no body noticed. That’s how they think they can get away cheating customers. Someone need to complain to consumer affairs bureau to fine these not honest restaurant.

!!FOOD SAFETY CONCERNS!! I ordered two aged egg and sliced pork porridge yesterday from Uber Eats. Both look like they are leftover from two days ago, and tastes bitter. They supposed not be like that because I have ordered the same thing three days ago, and that was much thicker and tasteful. But I’m sick, and I didn’t pay enough attention to this. I forced myself to finish most of them but I really can’t finished the last bit and threw to the garbage can. All I ate yesterday is the hot water and this suck porridge. This morning, I start feeling nausea, vomiting, and having abdominal pain. I really really rarely even left comments on Merchants’s review. This is my first one in years and I really can’t hold my temper. I lived here for years and I can say that I tried the most of Chinese restaurants in this area and you guys are the first one to did it.
Please conduct quality checks more frequently. Otherwise, if you continue to do business with this attitude, please close your restaurant as soon as possible and stop harming people.

WOW!!!!!
What an incredible experience – we were a party of about 13 and everything was perfect:
The waitresses were fast and kind, the food suggestions were out of this world and they were very accommodating for people in our party with food allergens/intolerances/dietary restrictions!
Serving a large party is difficult and they made it look easy, and especially on a holiday. I will be returning after that incredible experience
+ Points for the waitress who overheard that my son’s birthday was tomorrow and came out with THE cutest little steamed buns with little piggie faces on them, he was very appreciative and even he is excited to return to this location.
We got the large table with the rotating glass in the middle and that was a really cool feature (also, gotta note that the table, large and complex as it was, was spotless. Every inch of that restaurant was thoroughly clean and neat and showed that the staff there are on point)

We reserved long time ago for a banquet for 10 people. It was plenty tasty dishes, and we took home the leftovers.
There were a big party on the same day, so that they don’t have enough people to provide a better serve.

I had a fantastic experience at Chengdu 1! The service was friendly and welcoming, and the variety of food available was impressive – they really do have everything you could want for Chinese cuisine. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with seasonal Szechuan specialties on offer that were especially delicious. I was thrilled to see dim sum available at all times, with carts rolling out on the weekends – it added to the authentic experience. The hot and sour soup was a standout, as were the shrimp dim sum. And to top it all off, we had a blast celebrating my son’s birthday there. The restaurant itself is unpretentious, despite being called ‘the palace,’ and they even offer a take-out option for those who prefer to enjoy their meal at home. I highly recommend Chengdu 1 to anyone looking for top-quality Chinese food in a welcoming, no-fuss environment.

Went for the lunar new year before the crowd. They did their best to keep up with the volume and the business did affect their ability to service our table. A few requests had to be reminded such as water and our bill.
Restaurant is one of the prettier dim sum places I have been to. There is a koi pond in the middle for all to admire. Restaurant can accommodate large parties.
Menu has many options. Portion size was generous and impressed at the quantity. Ordered eggplant in garlic sauce, pan fried noodles and Peking duck.
Dishes were delicious. Wished my duck came in at a warmer temp and accompanied by dumplings. Duck was served with wraps which I wasn’t keen about. Got to bring home a decent size doggy bag.
Definitely would return if in the neighborhood.

It’s really mid and I’m really really sorry to say that as a fellow Chinese person. We ordered a decent chunk of the menu and everything was exceedingly salty, oily, and just unpleasant to taste. Kung pao chicken was very sweet and not authentic Szechuan style, very clearly tailored for American taste. Can’t speak on their dim sum but wouldn’t recommend coming here for regular dishes. Might as well try Canton Palace or even better go somewhere/anywhere in Edison. RIP Fortune Cookie (Lao Hunan) which used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in NJ.. now we just have restaurants like these. A massive disappointment especially during Chinese new year
