Must-Visit in Colorado Springs: Jun Japanese!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jun Japanese Restaurant. This spot is a true gem tucked away in Colorado Springs, delivering an authentic and upscale dining experience that far surpasses any other sushi or Japanese restaurant in the area. It deserves every bit of its five-star rating!
From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting—it’s elegantly designed with a cozy, traditional feel, perfect for a special date night or a relaxed family dinner. The service was impeccable; our server was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being intrusive, and made excellent recommendations.
But of course, the food is the real star. The freshness of the sashimi is unparalleled; it practically melts in your mouth and is presented beautifully, showing the incredible care the chefs take with every plate. We ordered the Tuna Tataki, which was perfectly seared and flavored, and a couple of their specialty rolls (the Jun Roll is a highlight!). Even the non-sushi dishes, like the Chicken Teriyaki, were cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and wonderfully savory.
If you are looking for the absolute best in Japanese cuisine, incredible service, and a truly memorable evening, do yourself a favor and visit Jun Japanese Restaurant. It’s worth every penny and is now our go-to spot for celebrations. Go and enjoy—you won’t regret it!

Exceptional food and service. This is my all time favorite sushi spot. The staff is wonderful and attentive and they truly make the experience memorable! The owner Jun truly cares about his customers and Felix and Julio always has awesome sushi recommendations for us to try!

I have been going to Jun’s for almost 17 years now. It has always been a great experience. The sushi is delicious and they have quite a few special rolls available, all of which have a unique taste/characteristic. We always request to sit at the tatami tables. It adds to the experience. Highly recommend!

Well, where do I begin. Being in the service industry, I like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. I tried but this was just too much. I would have loved to try this restaurant but it seemed like this place was so disorganized tonight for Valentine’s Day. My wife and I arrived for our reservation at 6:30pm around 6:15. Not acknowledged, just frantic servers at the front using the credit card machine. Waited about 10 min to get greeted and seated for the Hibachi table. Serve apologized for everything going on. As we waited for our other seats to fill up for the hibachi table we watched the table next to get filled and wondered why they filled that table when all those guests arrived after us. Asked the server why our table dint get filled first and she checked and informed us that we would have to wait until the other reservations arrived at 7pm!! She offered to take our order anyway but for what?? We would had had to wait for 6 other guests to arrive, get seated and get their drink orders in before anything else. We decided to just leave. It looked real nice on the inside but it just seemed so unorganized. Maybe short staffed?? I didn’t see a buser insight or a dedicated host. Highly doubt I’ll give it a second go around but who knows.

The food and atmosphere here is absolutely incredible. We sat in the elevated sunken tables and had a plethora of sushi, among other dishes. The sashimi and nigiri is fresh and delicious. The specialty rolls are unique and tasty. Growing up near the coast, I have always been skeptical of all sushi in Colorado. It is very hard to find high quality, delicious sushi. Jun Japanese restaurant hits the mark!
The owner was kind and incredibly courteous — a fantastic host. His nature impresses itself into the staff who are friendly and accommodating.

Seriously disappointed in my experience here on Valentines. I have been coming to Jun for about 15 years, and something happened between last year and this year. The food was good as always, but the service was truly one of the worst restaurant experiences ive ever had. They “lost” my reservation, I spent most of the dinner repeatedly asking for simple things like water and plates, and when all was said and done I had been in there for more than 2 hours, most of which was waiting to be seated or get my food. Mind you, that was with a reservation. Im not sure if they are understaffed, but that was unacceptable. I am sad to say it was my first bad experience at Jun in 15+ years.

Jun was amazing and took the time to discuss the fresh fish he had in the restaurant that evening and recommended many delicious dishes. Service was excellent! We will be visiting again!

I have been coming here for years. My favorite thing is that the food is consistently great. I prefer to do a Bento Box and some Sushi. We did a California Roll and a Tuna Roll with a Teriyaki Chicken with Tempura. They have a sushi special before 6:30 that we took advantage of that as well. They have 4 “cook in front of you grills” and several sit on the floor tables as well. I really like this place. The owner (I think) is often here. Staff is attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommend.
