The Mad Platter is a cool little restaurant! It has a very extensive menu for its size! My daughter and I split a bacon cheese burger with tots. The size and thickness of the burger was impressive! The presentation of the burger was above par! Taste was amazing! The little one removed the lettuce and pickles and went to town on the burger. The tots had a nice crispyness to them. The guy working when I was there was super friendly, patient, and accommodating to my littles special requests. Definitely recommend Mad Platter!

Best sandwich place in the area. I haven’t had a better sandwich south of Portland. It’s a little hard to find, buried down in the basement of the courthouse but man the meat was fresh and the food was delicious.
Best Reuben I’ve had! Not drenched in dressing like other places, just the right amount of everything. Heck when I went down there I saw the cook dressing the meat so you know it’s fresh. How this place has been hiding in that little basement I don’t know but whoever works at that courthouse is lucky. Can’t recommend enough.

Stopped in after reading all the great reviews. The rumors are true, Mad Platter is very good. Awesome hole in the wall vibe. My son had a chicken-ka-bob sub, it was huge. He said it was the best tasting sub he ever had. I had the Cuban sandwich it was damn good and very filling. The quality of the food is incredible. Quality and Quanity, you will get both. Nate knows his way around a grill. I’ll be back.

Great hidden gem in downtown Albany! Located in the basement of the courthouse, by the waiting room for prospective jurors, this little joint is fantastic. Nate is a good dude and everything is fresh made to order. You have got to try it, but be careful, the sandwiches are HUGE!

Hidden gem in the basement of the historic county courthouse. The owner was super friendly. We came around closing time and the floors where already swept and mopped. Throughout our meal he checked in to make sure we were comfortable and didn’t need anything. While we ate, he continued to thoroughly clean all of the cooking and service equipment. We were very pleased with our visit.

If you want a fresh deliciously tasty flavorful sandwich (or burger, etc) this is the place 100%. It’s not here for atmosphere or entertainment or views, just good eats! It’s in a funky basement corner room under the courthouse- unique! Follow your Google maps directions to the right hand side of the building and then signage in and down inside. I had the steak bomb sandwich. Big, hot, with gooey cheese and lots of deep grilled steak flavor. The hoagie it was on was toasty and warm with a slight crunch. The owner was a friendly very helpful guy- enthusiastic and working hard to make sure we were well served. Thanks!
