When we have a hankering for sushi we head to Songoku in Port Angeles. We love the old world vibe of the interior with its clay brick walls, carved wooden booths, and vintage wide-plank wood flooring. We’ve visited twice now and have ordered the same thing: the “Love Boat for Two”. It’s a huge portion of sashimi and sushi rolls. The lunch version arrives on a bridge while the dinner portion arrives on a boat. We shared a bottle of Albariño to wash it down which was the perfect pairing with each delectable bite. We experienced great service both times we visited and sat in the same booth as before. Thankfully, the seat cushions had been repaired and new plush coverings had replaced the previously cracked vinyl seats. We welcomed the change.
We will be back for another culinary adventure.

From New Hampshire, first time visiting Port Angeles (got an AirBnB too), tried to stop at as many places possible and wondered upon this wonderful establishment. Immediately greeted with hospitality, sat down to have a quick roll and drink. Ordered the Baby Lobstah Roll… WOW! Amazing! Nothing like that out East. Thank you!

Incredible food. We got sushi one time. It was beautiful and scrumptious. Next time we got the hibachi salmon and scallops. Phenomenal. And before 3 on a weekday, very affordable. This is our new favorite place.

We ordered 2 sushi rolls and a combo hibachi plate with chicken and steak. They won’t seat you at the hibachi grill unless you ask. The rice with the hibachi tasted old and for $26 for the plate, it was definitely not worth it. The sushi was overpriced ($21.50 for a roll) and it was not the best either. The service was disappointing because our waters were not refilled and we had to wait a long time for anyone to come serve us. Overall, it was disappointing.

I haven’t eaten broccoli for 50 years and didn’t know it would be cooked with the hibachi beef. I think the beef made the broccoli taste better. Tender perfectly cooked chunks of steak. The poke bowl and Philly roll were also really good. I’d easily recommend this place

A pretty nice Japanese restaurant in town that also offers hibachi at pretty reasonable prices! I like their drink menu and they’re different options they have! A lot of the options come with me so or a salad on the side! I also like the fact that they have a couple window units and dishes such as maybe the ramen… I also like the fact they have a couple options from the hibachi side even if You’re not eating there in the main dining room area! The staff is also very nice but a little bit slow to respond at times… But they do try to make every accommodation whatever you want as best as possible! Everything tasted pretty well and although some people mention saltiness, I didn’t really experience that with my hibachi combo with steak and scallops! I wondered about the price initially but now I have completely understand as there is alot no matter which dish you order!! Fried rice may be a little bit salty but not too big of a complaint and is very buttery!!

We went here twice during our stay at Port Angeles.
First time was because we want to have dinner at around 7h30 but every other restaurants close at 8. We ordered sashimi deluxe + hibachi 2 items (salmon + scallop). They also gave us a hot water which I lovee. Sashimi deluxe has 20 sashimi pieces and a roll (they gave us hollywood if im not mistaken) + 2 miso soups, also nice. Sashimi was fresh, scallop was amazingg it melted in my mouth. Other fish taste great also. Hibachi salmon and scallop was huge. The rice portion was so massive we left out some rice. Food for this meal overall, a bit salty but satisfying. That’s why we came back.
The second time we went for lunch with bento option and a salmon poke bowl. Bento box was okay, good meat portion. Poke bowl was a bit of a let down for me. It was small, full of rice, too little salmon. I wish i have gone for another choice 🙂
Overall great experience with sashimi, other dishes were decent and affordable.

We had a group of three right as dinner hibachi service started. We got our own table and had our orders taken pretty quickly. The soup was great and had a bit of kick to it. No salad, but those are never really impressive. We didn’t miss it. The chef came out right around the time we finished our soup. The food was great, some of the best hibachi I’ve had in the country, and I’ve been to at least 30 different hibachi restaurants from coast to coast. The veggies had the most variety and included mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, onions, and broccoli (my favorite!). The portions were generous, and even though we ordered two extra servings of fried rice and veggies, our bill was right around $80 after tax. The next time I’m in the area visiting friends, I’m going to make sure we stop in at least once.

We stopped here almost at closing right after a couple of hours at the holiday ice rink across the street. Food was fantastic, and the portions were very generous. Kids’ hibachi meals are almost as large as the adult portions. My kids are picky eaters, but loved their steak and even the onion soup accompaniment. We’ll be back!

It isn’t a hibachi, where they cook in front of you, but the staff is really nice, and the food is priced well for the portions you receive. I got steak and shrimp hibachi, and it was cooked medium rare. It was pretty tasty. However, my husband got sushi platter with sashimi, and he was less enthused by his food. He ended up eating off of my plate. Our kids got chicken hibachi, and shared it. One was more than enough for both of them. It was pretty good place to go if you don’t want to break the bank and want to stay in downtown Port Angeles.
