My wife and I went here for lunch on a weekday. We were the only customers inside. That should have been a warning. The only staff member visible was a young woman who was consumed by her smartphone. She told us to sit anywhere we wanted, but was too busy to come over to give us menus or ask right away if we wanted drinks. We had to get menus off of other tables ourselves. We ordered thai ice tea, fresh shrimp spring rolls, pad see-iew, and sweet and sour Thai style. Both entrees came with a small salad with peanut sauce. The salads, spring rolls, and Thai tea were quite good. This place has a nice tasting, thick peanut sauce.
However, the entrees and service were horrible. The pad see-iew was served boiling hot as lots of steam rose from it. There was no sweet sauce taste to it. It was soggy, white noodles with chicken and vegetables. It all tasted bland. The sweet and sour had chicken, but had too much sauce and was too sweet. The rice in cup form and was dry. The entrees were so bad we did not eat it all and did not take the remainder home.
Our waitress never checked on us after she brought our entrees, to see how we liked them or to see if we wanted drink refills. She was hiding in the kitchen. There were no staff visible. I had to wait until she came out and I had to loudly call her over. When she brought our bill it was on a digital device that only showed the total price and a place to enter a tip. I told her I wanted to see an itemized bill. Also, only after you enter a tip for the final price, it shows they also charge 3% extra for using a credit card.
We will never return. The entrees were horrible and the service was atrocious. It was like the waitress was too busy on her smartphone to pay any attention to us.

Very unique curries that were different and delicious. I had the sweet curry with chicken and loved it. The Thai lemonade is also a must-try: lemonade and Thai tea together. The prices were a little high for the portion size but overall enjoyed the food. Service was also great.

My friend and I dined at Sa Bai this evening. While my friend thoroughly enjoyed his shrimp with peanut sauce my pork with eggplant was ok. The veggies and pork were cut into such huge pieces, I asked for a knife. Even with a steak knife I had trouble cutting through the fatty pork. The jasmine rice was overly sticky so it was hard to mix into the meal. And it had no flavor. I have to say the service was excellent. I’ve been there before and have had better food.

I was really excited to try the mango sticky rice here, but it was honestly one of the worst I’ve had. The rice was hard and clearly undercooked—definitely not the soft, sticky texture it’s supposed to have. The mango pieces were huge, frozen, and flavorless, like they were just chopped straight out of a bag. On top of that, the entire dish was ice cold and looked nothing like the appealing photo they advertised online. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a total letdown. Definitely not worth the price.

The food here is consistently great, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Customer service is excellent, and I’ve visited several times with a consistently positive experience. The place also offers a nice sense of privacy and calm, which makes dining there relaxing.
While the decor feels a little dated, it doesn’t take away from what really matters — good food, great service, and a peaceful atmosphere. Definitely worth returning to.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The male worker was yelling at his staff member up front at the bar and in the kitchen area about small mistakes that were made. We got a completely wrong entree, and my chicken was ice cold in my pad Thai. I normally would speak up but was afraid due to the male’s demeanor. It seemed like it was just them two working, so the service was subpar due to the staffing shortage. With that being said I will not be returning.

This place is wonderfully unique and tasty! I took my 2 daughters on a dinner date and we had so much fun! The server was attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy! Taking my husband next for date-nite! Thanks Sa Bai Modern Thai! We will see you again soon!

Quality not worth the price: Recently got Pad See-iew from this place and it was quite disappointing.
I ordered Hot and the dish was barely mild. It came with (i counted) 2 pieces of brocolli and 8 carrot slices, and i could find no evidence of egg in the dish at all.
Taste was fine, although the noodles were claggy and stuck together in basically a patty.
