The combination of rich au jus sauce, tender peppers, and high quality beef tucked into Italian bread was absolutely satisfying. Every bite felt well balanced and full of flavor. Many locals claim this spot stands right alongside the top Italian beef places in the area, and after trying it I can see why. The service was welcoming, the space was clean, and having drinks available made the visit even more enjoyable.

My first ever Italian Beef and it knocked my socks off. Incredible fusion of au jus sauce and peppers with prime beef in Italian bread. Locals say Buona can compete with any other Italian Beef in Chicagoland and I dont disagree. Great service in a clean setting. Beer available.

It was our first time eating here. Food was fantastic! Everything was so hot you could barely eat it. Laura was the woman working in the dining area and she made sure both our kids got their ice cream vouchers for Rainbow Cone outside! Kids said the ice cream was great!

I was kind of surprised they actually had any vegetarian options, but not only do they offer a vegetarian “beef” sandwich, but it was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be getting it again!

They seem to have a difficult time cooking well done burgers here. Too often you’ll still find the inside of your burger raw when you’ve specified wanting it well or even very well done. Also with delivery orders they often forget or leave out items such as cheese with supposed cheese fries. The food otherwise is really good. Fries are amazing! Good Italian beef and burger when you are there to make sure it’s made to your liking. When you go in and make sure it’s done right, you probably won’t be disappointed. But I’d suggest checking your complete order before leaving the location. 3 stars for too often missing food (delivery) and not doing well done properly (delivery and drive-thru) even when asked. Please work on that! Otherwise nice staff and neat/comfortable dine in space.

We came here on Monday, December 29, 2025, our second time here, we visited first in the fall of 2024, I believe. The experience is very good and the menu is very wide and open. I opted for the pizza here out of curiosity and I was pretty much impressed but we also ordered sandwiches and other items too. Came here for the first time with a couple of friends. Nice atmosphere, clean, and friendly staff. I ordered a large beef with cheese fries and a drink! Was so thirsty and the fresh squeezed lemonade was perfect! I put a splash of the strawberry watermelon for my refill and it tasted even better! Fries were kind of small and dry. Maybe they were at the bottom of the batch? Ordered my beef baptized with sweet peppers. Came as ordered, but for the price, I felt I can find one just as good as the many places locally that sell them. One friend ordered a combo and thought it was small and pricey and said he has had much better. It was the second time here for my other friend and she remembers her chicken sandwich on a different bun and tasted better the first time she came when they first opened. She also ordered onion rings and only ate a couple because she thought that had maybe an overdone burnt taste. If I stopped here again, it would probably be for the lemonade and tea!

Everyone comes here for the Italian Beef, but don’t sleep on the Grilled Chicken Sandwich! I get it every time I visit the Lakemoor location and it never misses. The chicken is always perfectly char-grilled and flavorful, served on a high-quality bun that doesn’t get soggy. If you want something a little lighter but still super satisfying, this is the one to get. 5 stars for consistency!

I’ve been a lifelong resident of Illinois and have frequently been to Chicago for business and always enjoyed going out to eat to try the various food. I tried this place out and it was the tastiest Chicago style food I’ve had! The good of is delicious it’s the absolute BEST! SERVICE was beyond good. You take a number and they bring the food to you, and you leave the mess and they clean up. Management and staff actively checked on us to make sure we were satisfied with our meals and if we needed anything. Comfy atmosphere, lots of fun history of the franchise around to read. They treat you like an Italian mother would treat you when she welcomes you into her home, wants you full my fed and happy. What a wonderful place to eat for you and the family! Would recommend anyone who wants a great dinner with the family!
