Visited in August 2025. We were looking for some tasty and quick. This is not quite a hole in the wall but definitely not fancy eating. Fairly quick sit down. Enough space for around 10-15 people at the tables. Its a bit crowed but it works with the theme. The soup dumplings are cooked to a steamed perfection. Pan fried pork and bok choy are the best. Others in our party got buns that looked very tasty.

I am absolutely disgusted and horrified by my experience at Emperor Dumpling ON 3rd Ave 10017 I ordered food expecting a normal meal, and instead I found actual worms inside my dish. Yes—WORMS. I didn’t realize it at first and actually ate part of the meal before seeing the worms, which made me extremely sick afterward.

After discovering this, I immediately contacted the restaurant expecting them to take the situation seriously. Instead, I received zero accountability, no urgency, and still have not been given a proper refund or resolution. Their response was dismissive and careless, as if serving contaminated food with parasites is normal.

Since eating there, I became physically ill and had to seek medical attention. The fact that a restaurant is allowed to operate under such unsafe and unsanitary conditions is shocking.

This is not a small complaint — this is a serious health hazard. People trust restaurants with their safety. If worms are being served in meals, what else is happening behind the scenes with cleanliness and food handling?

This restaurant I would definitely recommend the pork buns and the dumplings because oh my god they were so good for a cheap price in nyc. For two pork bun it’s about less than 10 and I believe the dumplings were as-well. The service was professional and amazing and very clean and welcoming! I would definitely dine in again.

The dumplings were very yummy!
The roast pork over rice was yummy, wish it had more sauce.
The Coke Zero was flat, waste of $$$.

Very good dumplings, they only have 6-8 and not 4 for a smaller meal but it’s perfect for one person to get full or two to have a nice snack. Pretty clean all around very peaceful. Would def stop by again when back in town.

Cheap chinese food with good quality

It didn’t take too long to go to the restaurant from the train station.

I ordered the soup dumpling and their lunch special. It was a lot of food for me. The food was really good. I like the dumplings a lot.

The place is pretty small but it is good for eating alone or with one other friend. The staffs were really nice and friendly.

Highly recommend for cheap good food

The restaurant was clean not fancy and staff friendly.
I ordered general Tsos lunch special. The quantity was fine. The chicken was BATHED in sauce as was the rest of the dish. The rice was soggy on the parts that werent even bathed in sauce. I normally eat alot in the restaurants i go and even . It wasnt worth finishing I won’t be eating here again….

A hole in the wall little place in Manhattan that does mostly takeout (saw dozens of New Yorkers picking up dinner on their way home from work) but also has dine-in seating for about a dozen guests. The two of us scooped up window seating and ordered the Taiwanese beef noodle soup ($14), 8 piece pan fried pork & chives dumplings ($9) and the House pan fried lo mein with vegetables, beef and shrimp ($15). The servings are fresh, hot, tasty with healthy portions. The only thing that wasn’t great was the bubble tea that was a bit too sweet. Definitely recommend for take out or dine in.

The customer service was good and the place was pretty but I got the spicy beef dumpling and they were tasteless! No spice and were shaped awful I was so disappointed and had an off flavor. I did enjoy the chili oil though with soy sauce but for the price point extremely disappointed also didn’t taste pan fried. 5/10

If I lived in NYC, I’d eat here often. I was on a work trip & staying at a nearby hotel. This small eatery is within a short walk.

I was craving Asian food, & this hit the spot. Menu is extensive. I ordered the pork & bok choy dumplings steamed, roasted duck with bok choy & white rice, & a lychee milk tea with boba (asked for it to be made less sweet). All of it was delicious! And my order came with sauces that perfectly complimented my food.

I dined in, & the atmosphere is chill. I appreciated the calm music playing & the TV overhead playing vacation scenes of lovely beaches in Bali & Tahiti. The dining area is small but sufficient. The staff is friendly & service is quick.

Prices are reasonable. I paid a little over $30 for what I ordered.

Highly recommend!
