Reviews
The female waitress was incredibly attentive. They served me cold tea, but she brought me hot tea for my elderly mother, and when she saw my medicine on the table, she brought me some medicinal water. She was cheerful and quick, and I was very impressed.
The lunch menu was extensive, making it difficult to choose what to order. The quick-boiled Chinese cabbage had a gentle flavor that meant I could drink the entire broth. The simmered vegetables were also quite light and healthy. The sushi rice was a little on the acidic side, but the variety of toppings made it a good value. I’d definitely like to stop by again if I have the chance to visit Matsumoto again.
There are about three parking spaces in the monthly parking lot in front of the restaurant.
I visited a little after 11:30 on a weekday. You could choose from the menu displayed on the table or from one hanging on the wall.
I was the first one there, but was shown to a corner of the counter because it gets busy at lunchtime.
Everything on the menu looked delicious and good value for money, so I couldn’t decide, but I chose the motsu ni and sashimi set meal. While I was waiting after ordering, more and more customers came in, and the counter became full.
There was only one person in the kitchen preparing the food, so I waited about 15 minutes, but I was very satisfied with both the food and the service.
I went with my family, and we were happy with the comfortable atmosphere.
I think the sake selection is probably a collection of the owner’s favorite brands. I think our tastes are similar.
I enjoyed the drinks and food with my friends!
I’ll come again!
– Today’s Boiled Fish Set Meal: ¥800
– Weekly Set Meal: ¥850
Our restaurant is located in Fukashi, Matsumoto City, along a one-way street with no parking.
The dark, old-fashioned interior feels cramped, with only two large tables and an L-shaped counter.
Currently, due to COVID-19 countermeasures, we are not accepting customers from outside the prefecture.
At lunchtime, we offer a great value set meal featuring fresh fish.
It’s been a while since I last visited, and the cooking and serving times seem quite slow.
Standard set meals include sushi, sashimi, and boiled fish, but they also offer unusual dishes for a Japanese restaurant, such as a weekly grilled fish set meal and chilled dandan noodles.
The sashimi set meal, with its daily special, is a moderately generous portion, with 5-6 small slices of sashimi.
Even the sashimi dishes at night are a little pricey, so this is a great deal.
The limited-time spicy seafood chirashi contains tuna, salmon, squid, and white fish, and is seasoned with shiso leaves.
It’s not a tsukemono (pickled) type, so the spicy sauce is mixed in just before serving, giving it a fresh feel.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, it has a kuzushi (broth) feel, but because it’s not vinegared rice, the flavor feels a bit light overall.
Personally, I find the Japanese set meals more satisfying than the sashimi dishes.
Rather than a Japanese restaurant, this is more of an izakaya (Japanese pub) that specializes in fresh fish, making it a casual place to visit.
Only available this season: Wild Vegetable Tempura
Putting tempura on top of kakesoba was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying koshiabura (strained oil).
What a joy it is to be able to enjoy delicious seasonal foods.
This restaurant doesn’t have an extensive menu, but instead serves carefully selected dishes and serves alcohol.
It seems to be run by the owner alone, so it’s recommended for those who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
