Our only critique is the red bean paste they use is a little bit grainy and not sweet enough for our tastes and the buns were overbaked/a little burned on the tops for our liking which made the breads a little bitter.
We are also pretty picky and red bean buns are our measure of judgement for a bakery like this. Overall a great shop and we will be back!
I bought the yellow cream roll, which is fantastic and great mini cake roll to share.
I did also purchase a sandwich. The girl heated the whole thing in the micro, and yuck! It tasted like plastic…and I had to take it back in foelr a refund! And that really spoiled my experience.
But, I will add, overall the place is clean, and great customer service with a smile! A+ I higly recommend, but if you’re watching your sugar and diet, avoid this experience.
The places get crowded really quick, so you have to grab whatever you feel like eating. Hahaha!
The have a lot of bread and pastries to choose from, from sweet breads to savory breads.
When we visited, they sell mugs for a $1. When you purchase $30 worth of their breads. It’s a nice red and greed mug, to give as gift or for personal use.
This shop has a beverage station on the side, so you could order drinks on the go. From milk tea, to coffee, and tea.
There’s no seating inside, but there are a few seats outside the shop.
There’s no toilet inside either.
Overall, I would recommend you to drop by for some delicious and soft breads.
I am writing this review to bring urgent attention to a serious ADA violation and discriminatory incident that took place at this location.
I entered the bakery briefly with my fully trained service animal to select items before closing. Within less than a minute, an employee approached me extremely rudely, loudly announcing across the store that I “couldn’t have my dog inside.” I calmly informed her that he is a service animal. Instead of responding professionally, she demanded to know my disability which is a direct violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Under the ADA, staff are legally prohibited from asking about the nature of a person’s disability.
When I politely reminded her of this, the employee became confrontational and ordered me to leave, while customers stared as if I had done something wrong. My service animal was calm, quiet, and completely well behaved the entire time.
The situation escalated further when the employee began raising her voice at me, insulting me, and even calling both me and my mother derogatory names in front of everyone. This behavior was aggressive, hostile, and entirely unprovoked.
I requested to speak with a manager, but when she arrived, she refused to listen, allowed the employee to continue yelling and calling me names in front of her, and took no corrective action whatsoever. The lack of training, professionalism, and basic understanding of ADA law at this establishment is both alarming and unacceptable.
This was not only humiliating but also an act of discrimination against a person with a disability. My rights were violated, and the conduct of both the employee and the manager was completely inappropriate.
I am requesting that corporate be notified immediately and that proper disciplinary action, including termination of the employee involved, be taken. If this matter is not addressed appropriately, I will be escalating this further through the proper channels.
I will never return to any 85°C location after this experience, and I strongly urge corporate to review the ADA training and professionalism of this store’s staff. No customer especially one with a disability should ever be treated this way.
