Great ambiance, lot of room in here. Place was busy, but service was very good, attentive. Salads were good. Pizza was great. One reviewer said they could go heavier on the toppings and i agree. Hot sausage and garlic pizza was heavy but good. Margarita pizza also very good. Wings are from Snowden BBQ which is amazing! Not cheap tho. Affogato was delicious. Tarimisu was to die for. Big menu, hard to decide but I’ll be back to try more stuff for sure.

I have a reluctance to post how good the pizza is at Sasso’s, or the masses will turn out for what maybe the best pizza anywhere on the planet without the Wooster St. waiting in line. Best choices: Lemon Burrata Clam, The Trufflo and the Red Tuscan, pictured, with some of the best sausage anywhere. Local Craft beers on tap. Enjoy.

I ordered a pepperoni and onion pizza at sasso’s recently. Honestly the pizza is quite good I would rate it in 8.5/10 as far as the crust which is very good as well as the sauce. My negatives are the price point first and foremost. This pie was almost $34 and change and there’s barely any onions and not many pepperoni to be honest. When you charge a price point such as this for a pizza that you can get for at least $10 less at E&D or Little City, at least put a lot of toppings on it. The price and lack of toppings negated the positives in my opinion.

I won’t go back based on price alone. Too many good spots in the valley where the price is not as high.

First it’s a warm charming place. We absolutely fell in love with this place. This was our first visit. My fiance, myself, and our 2 year old son. Staff was so friendly and understanding as our child was a little loud at first that is until he got his meatballs . he was enjoying them so much he fell alseep on the car ride home . We shared the burrata salad and a large pizza with pepperoni and hot sausage. Oh my so flavorful and nice and thin crispy crust just how we love. It was so nice to fund a new place to add to our very small list of restaurants that are enjoyable for us. We will return with more family! Thank You Luis for your Great Service.

We really enjoyed our dinner here prior to our show at the Warner Theatre just three doors down on Main St. in Torrington. Sasso’s was completely booked, but they have an arrangement with The Franklin right next door, so we were seated there. It has the feel of an old speakeasy – much quieter, subdued and a more interesting space away from some of the noise of the larger Sasso establishment. Walter waited on us and the service could not have been any better. The Old Fashioned and the Bee’s Knees craft cocktails were pricey, but very good. The wheat beer we had was also very good. Now, for the food: the antipasto was outstanding. The small was enough to easily serve two to three people and the ingredients were fresh, plentiful and way better than most restaurants serving this type of salad. The price was easily justified. In fact, when we received the salad we thought maybe they delivered us the large, but the bill confirmed it was the small. We ordered the margherita pizza with half hot sausage and it was very, very tasty. We are pizza snobs and kneel to the holy trinity of Pepe’s, Sally’s and Modern in New Haven, but this is a pizza that we will highly recommend in any conversation we have about pizza in this area. It most closely matches the style of Sally’s with its sauce-forward flavor profile. The pizza price was on par with other good pizza places in CT. We could not have been happier with our dining experience at Sasso’s/The Franklin.

Overall delicious! Ordered a pepperoni and onion pizza, and the sauce-to-cheese ratio was spot on, with a fresh, garlicky marinara and a light layer of Parmesan-forward cheese, that added an extra layer of flavor. The eggplant fries were some of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly seasoned and crispy. I’ll definitely be back!

The artichoke spinach dip was great. The beat salad didn’t have enough beats in it but it was also really good. The Florentine pizza was an A+. Must get reservations though or you’ll get a smaller table.

We visited Sasso’s prior to a show at The Warner next door, and have always heard great things from friends who have visited. Luckily we made a reservation, because the place was packed! Nice vibe and friendly service. My one critique is that the food did take a bit longer to come out than I was expecting – our reservation was for 6:15, and we didn’t get our food until nearly 7, and we had to be at the theater for 7:30 latest. I had told our server that we were going to the show, and she was fantastic about getting us boxes and getting our bill paid in a timely manner, so we made it to the show with time to spare. The wings were phenomenal and super garlicky, and we really enjoyed their pizza. Coal-fired, thin crust with just the right amount of char. We’ll be back! If I come before a show next time, I’ll just be sure to move my reservation time up a bit, but overall they handled the volume of the restaurant well!

Sasso’s Pizza in Torrington is a must-try for any pizza lover! Their New Haven-style pies are crispy and delicious, and the atmosphere is lively and fun.
I especially recommend the Eggplant Parm pizza – it’s a unique and flavorful take on a classic. The cheese pizza is also excellent, with a perfect balance of sauce and cheese.
The place was packed when I went, which is always a good sign. There are TVs for watching games, and the Franklin Lounge speakeasy next door is a great spot to grab a drink or make a ressie for dinner
Overall, Sasso’s is a great place to enjoy some delicious pizza with friends and family.
