Le restaurant La Fontaine La table de l’Hostellerie Le Beffroi Vous pourrez y déguster une cuisine simple et inventive « faite Maison » tout en profitant d’une vue exceptionnelle sur Vaison la Romaine. Coline Christiansen, cheffe de cuisine, partage sa passion de la cuisine avec sa jeune équipe en travaillant les produits frais issus de producteurs locaux, les herbes aromatiques de notre jardin sont également utilisées pour parfumer les entrées, poissons et viandes mais aussi les desserts. Brunch le dimanche midi en été. Les réservations prises par internet ne peuvent être garanties, et dépendent de la disponibilité. Il est préférable de téléphoner, pour une table le jour même. Came with a group of people, and was met with terrific service, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant overlooks one of the best views I have ever seen, and this small town is truly a gorgeous gem. Our waiter Julien was very friendly and polite. As were the other restaurant employees Eric and Michelle. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is a gem of southern France.

The view in the garden simply is incredible: the garden is beautiful and the view on the entire town is impressive. The location is amazing, in the medieval quarter. Food is very good, although not amazing (fish is a bit basic, but other things are more sophisticated), and the the price is reasonable. The service is outstanding.

We were so excited to eat here. It was our last night in Vaison and my sister had eaten here several years earlier and had loved it. Our waitress forgot our wine and even though we asked twice she did not bring our bread or our wine. The entrees came and went with no wine and no bread. Finally the man in charge brought bread – right after the waitress bought us 3 pieces for a table of 5- and then we said we wanted our wine and he said sorry sometimes things go wrong. It went wrong indeed when he brought us the wine and opened it without presenting it – he’d brought red not white! Finally dinner came and although the waitress said the fish of the day was salmon it was in fact Dory, which was presented overcooked and tough in an indistinguishable sauce with a lump of risotto. The lamb was a pile of fat, again with an indistinguishable sauce, and an odd soufflé.
When finally we got the bill – we had to ask multiple times – the waitress asked us if we had a pen to sign with. Never mentioned anything about the service nor the fact they took away almost full plates of food. Not the fact that they have crows who hop in tables to snatch food.
This is a tourist trap and I would eat anywhere else- down the hill at the pizza restaurant is better and cheaper -before I eat here again.

Location of restaurant garden spectacular. Beautiful garden, fab atmosphere. We were a group of 4 and I got to try most of everything ordered. The gazpacho was delicious. My fried foie gras, perfectly done – on nicely sour apricots – good touch. Seconds for me was sauteed tuna which I had ordered virtually raw – it came rather overcooked for my liking. Without much of a fuss they replaced it with another slice this time perfect. It had a lovely pesto but I don’t get why it was served on a tomato? I also tried a bit of the beef tartare – very tasty. My vegetarian partner was promised a plate of veggies but instead got a slice of polenta and some more gazpacho – sadly disappointing. Dessert was a lemon tart revisited – the crumbs were mixed into the lemon mass rather than on it – nice touch and very lovely lemony. All in all, great service, good food, excellent atmosphere.

Lovely terrace overlooking Vaison-la-Romaine and perfect for a summer sunset dinner. Service can be a bit slow, but the food is good, wine list excellent for well priced local wines, and overall price is good value for the setting.
