My family and I stopped in for dinner tonight, and we were seriously impressed. Our waiter, Orlando (I believe that was his name), was excellent — super friendly, attentive, and on point the entire night.

We ordered the 16 oz ribeyes cooked medium, and they came out perfect with that warm pink center we asked for. The bone-in wings were also great, and we tried several flavors — the honey hot was my favorite. The bread and butter alone is worth mentioning… honestly, it even surpasses Texas Roadhouse’s famous rolls and butter, and we love theirs.

We’re locals and can’t believe we waited this long to check the place out since the remodel and new ownership. The atmosphere is nice, the food was spot on, and the service made the experience even better.

Highly recommend giving this place a try — we’ll definitely be back and we are thankful for great steak in our area!

My first trip to this restaurant and the food was very good. Steaks very well seasoned and sides were yummy too. Our waiter was a disappointment. Tea glasses empty for most of our party for a good while before I asked another waitress for refills. Bread came out after our meal was served after we asked if we were going to get bread. When you are spending $400 on a nice dinner the service needs to be there. Not sure if I will go back. Food was good but service sucked.

Amazing service from the bar tender. Very nice and the place looked cool. I got the 12 oz ribeye with mac and cheese and a loaded baked potato. The sides were meh but the steak really disappointed me. It was unseasoned and the fatty bits weren’t all the way rendered so it was hard to chew through most of it. The drinks were great though.

Dined at Red Heifer tonight. The hostess was friendly, the atmosphere was a few cowhides on the walls. The kitchen noise was very loud, customer had a child with their babysitter ( a phone) with the volume very loud watching cartoons. The waitress came for drink orders and brought rolls. I went with expectations of over the top rolls. These rolls were compared to Texas Roadhouse. They weren’t warm and actually taste like the frozen rolls you’d buy at Walmart. We looked at the pricy menu, hoping they weren’t just overly proud. I ordered the million dollar chicken and Cesar salad. The chicken was definitely moist but the tomato cream sauce tasted like canned cheese with rotel tomatoes. The Cesar salad was iceberg lettuce not the Romain lettuce. Waitress stated it was a mixture. That’s a disappointment. My husband and daughter ordered the cowboy steak. Their steaks were thinner than the price suggested, but cooked as ordered, seasoned way to peppery. The baked potatoes were the only things perfect. We all ordered sweet tea ($3.00) but obviously not southern owners . Two steaks, one chicken and three teas our bill was over $95.00– very disappointing and won’t return.

Our experience at The Red Heifer was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Porterhouse, my wife got the Reba, and neither steak was cooked properly. I asked for medium-rare, but my steak came charred and well done. My wife’s medium steak was tough, chewy, and overcooked. The waiter clearly saw our steaks were severely overcooked, but after waiting almost 40 minutes, we didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes for replacements. We were told the cook’s temperature gauge was “messed up,” but what kind of cook can’t tell when a steak is done by sight? Both steaks were under-seasoned and bland—I had to drown mine in 57 sauce just to get any flavor. I also got only five shrimp instead of six.

Our only “compensation” was a $7 lava cake. We didn’t even finish our plates—I ate half of my Porterhouse; my wife had only two bites of her Reba. We hate wasting food, but what we had tonight, if we had brought it home, would’ve been fed to the dogs. Spending $100 on this meal was a total waste. Next time, we’ll go to Texas Roadhouse or LongHorn for a properly cooked steak with no disappointment

Nice to have a steak house in Chipley. Friendly, yet professional service. Good steak in a nice, inviting environment with a western theme. Even met the owner while he made rounds in the dining room checking on and showing appreciation to his guests. Also tried the homemade peach cobbler, a must try.

I’m giving 2 stars because the staff is great. My husband and I came in and both ordered the porterhouse. I knew something was wrong when we were asked if we wanted A1 or Heinz 57. The quality of the steak was very disappointing, it was somehow dry and chewy when cooked medium rare. It tasted like it had been frozen and not seasoned at all. Also, what kind of steakhouse doesn’t use butter? I wish I would have taken a picture of the mac n cheese. I’ve seen other photos in the reviews and it looks different. What I was served looked and tasted like Great Value boxed macaroni and cheese with powdered cheese with some more cheap cheese melted on top. It was also dry and had zero flavor. I wanted to love this place so badly. We just moved here from Orlando and we are used to having a lot of delicious options outside our door. I didn’t expect to have a Charley’s Steakhouse experience in Chipley, FL. but I did expect a steakhouse to have at least a decent quality cut of meat and sides. I’d have been better off at Longhorn or Outback. I absolutely HATE giving a local business a bad review but c’mon, I barely ate my food and fed a darn porterhouse to my dog when we got home. Oh, the whole clapping and singing some song about heifers when serving our steaks was uncalled for. I’d stop doing that.

This place is great!!! They haven’t been open very long and still have a few bugs to work out. The owners are great and are often present in the restaurant. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that you have not only a great meal, but outstanding service as well. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Do yourself a favor, support a small, locally owned business and have a great steak!!
