The staff are wonderful and the food delicious.
Attached to the Cairndale hotel and spa.
The staff were very attentive… decor lovely.. we will be back..
The serving staff were mainly young people who, to be honest, were a bit clueless. We asked one young girl about drink options and she stated she wasn’t even old enough to serve drinks nevermind advise about them. The wine was brought to the table along with 3 glasses. None of them were filled, the unopened wine was placed on the table with the 3 empty glasses for us to fill them ourselves.
The food itself was pretty average and overpriced in my opinion. The butter chicken came with two dishes one full of basic rice and the other with the butter chicken. I didn’t know how to start this meal. The rice dish was full so I couldn’t fit the butter chicken in it and the butter chicken dish was full so I couldn’t fit the rice in it. I had to eat plain rice in order to fill the remainder with the butter chicken. A plate would have been a wonderful thing.
The Korean chicken lollipops were just chicken wings. Not sure what made them lollipops and the “black pudding” scotch egg had barely any black pudding in it.
I decided against pudding so cannot comment.
What I will say, is the decor is lovely. It’s a comfortable environment to dine in but it was a shame that the food was not up to much.
I appreciate this is a fairly new restaurant but improvement is required for us to consider returning.
The only let-down was the bread, which was both fussy and austere. It doesn’t chime with the rest of the experience.
