We’ve been going here since they opened we’ve lived in Coventry for 20 years, probably been here at least 50 times. I’m very sorry to report both the customer service & the food has been a long downhill slide. For years they were easily a 5/5 no for us personally dropped to a consistent 3/5. A cranky owner, management never checks tables or bothers to greet customers, inattentive wait staff and that’s just the front of the house problems. The food also has changed quite a bit. The fried rice now barely seasoned, they changed their crab Rangoons to frozen onion filled ones, thin over cooked beef teriyaki, a slightly chemical tasting wonton in the wonton soup, and guys look at the pic of the spare ribs, I mean come on. Burnt scraps that I’m not even sure are even pork. But whatever they are they’re thinner than any spare ribs I’ve ever seen. To be clear we used to LOVE this place! Times are tight so unfortunately it’s a real disappointment that this will likely be our last time giving them our hard earned money. Finally if you notice the owners don’t even care enough to respond to ANY reviews good or bad.

If you want chinese food that I can only described as americanized in a way that makes it taste healthier than I want my chinese food to be. Boneless ribs are more like beef teriyaki meat than nuggets of fatty candy goodness, wonton soup has chicken breast and some greens resembling lettuce, no pea pods. Moo goo gai pan was missing flavor. Was a bummer. It’s not BAD, just not what I’m looking for when I order chinese take out.

Food is delicious! Traditional old school New England style Chinese food! Great big restaurant hidden in an office building. Just follow the signs. Once you sit you get complimentary wonton strips with the darkest duck sauce I’ve had. It looks black in the container. Comes out a dark brown. It is delicious! Hot and sour soup is perfect!!! The balance created with wine and vinegar give it the perfect sour flavors with just the right amount of heat and finished with sesame oil. Seriously one of the best! They still have old school egg rolls. The newer ones are made with bland cabbage. These are made with celery and pork and just the right amount of spice. Perfect! The shrimp with lobster sauce was also spot on. Fresh shrimp in a delicious sauce that balances flavor without being too salty. The fried rice was the darkest I’ve had without being salty. Overall this is a great restaurant that I highly recommend.

Dragon Palace is one of our regular spots, and it’s always solid. My mom and I go pretty often, and the food is consistently good every time we’re there. No surprises, just reliable quality.
The orange chicken dinner combo is my go-to — crispy, flavorful, and always satisfying. Portions are good, prices are reasonable, and it’s the kind of place you know you’ll enjoy whenever you stop in.

They were quite busy but actually sat us quickly. The good was good. My only issue was that the waitress kept apologizing for my food taking much longer than everyone else at the table. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes longer than everyone else. Oddly, my entree came out cold. I would still come back.

I have been coming here, the Coventry location, for years. Everything was always wonderful however, about a year ago I came with a friend of mine, and the food was definitely not the same…. greasy no flavor.
About six months ago, I said well I’ll give it another chance. The food was even worse. The eggroll was completely dried out. The boneless spareribs were all fat; I said never again.
Well this evening I was really dying for Chinese food so I figured I would give Dragon one last chance. Maybe it’s OK.
This is it…. I will never come back. They don’t have traditional duck sauce anymore. It’s brown and it has a smoky burnt flavor. The boneless ribs were just all fat and had a burned flavor. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, and my cocktail was so strong it was awful.
The bartender appeared to be the only weight staff. She did the best she could so I can’t complain about that.
It’s just really sad because that’s it. I don’t know if this location has been sold if there’s a new chef or what’s going on but over the past year, they have definitely changed something because the food is really not good anymore.

I’ve ordered takeout from here many times now, and usually it’s good portions and good food for the price. The last two times I ordered, once by myself and again with family, I was really disappointed. I had to explain to my family that it wasn’t usually this bad. The rice was disgusting, they forgot to remove the shrimp from my friend’s house rice, the noodles were mush and the veggies inedible, they forgot my soup, and the crab rangoon tasted old and musty. The last time I ordered for just myself, figuring it was a fluke, and the same thing happened again, and I threw out most of the food, as it was unsalvageable. I won’t order here again, as the prices are too high for the risk of getting bad food again (I’m not one to drive all the way back to complain, I just stop ordering).

My first experience here wasn’t nearly as good as my second. I am really glad with my decision to try them once again. It was night and day. First time, ordered the scorpion bowl. Recirved an ice cube in the shot spot. It was corrected however the drink was very weak. Overall service was sub par and the server only let us know she was short handed and only made excuses for the poor service. The scallops were very fishy and dry as well.Tonight’s service was exceptional and the drink was on par as well. Food was fantastic and the service was even better. Was brought extra sauces as well. To the gentleman that served tonight, Thanks for your efforts. Keep doing what you’re doing.
