Had a great time with family eating here after touring a local distillery. I had the Blue Ribbon Burger. It was done medium rare and was very moist and tasty.
My family members ordered various items, such as the Whisky Mushroom Burger, a turkey sandwich and a salmon salad. Everyone seemed happy with their food.
Our waitress was friendly and kept my coffee cup filled… something I always appreciate. She kept up with everyone else’s drinks, also.
The restaurant was very clean and the clientele all seemed pleasant. There was quite a loud, though happy, buzz throughout the restaurant, which most people would not notice, however, as a person with post-concussion issues, it was a little louder than I normally like. Just something to be aware of, if you are sensitive to sounds.
Price points seemed average. My burger and hand cut fries were $16, so not a bad value for the cost.
Overall a great place to grab a quick meal, especially, if you’d like to grab something from the tap while you’re there.

We were traveling north on I-79 and were lucky enough to get hungry as we were coming up on the exit that led us to this absolute gem of an eatery!! The atmosphere is great; very inviting and friendly. The service was great and the food was spectacular! It’s a tad bit pricey, but all in all, this place is definitely 5 stars! I wish you were located closer to home!!

After being seated we were told they had been “slammed” and the waiter would be with us soon. What it really looked like me was that they were understaffed with only two servers as the restaurant was less than half full. We waited longer than normal to get drinks, place our orders and get our food. Again we heard that they were extra busy. Unfortunately, this also created hastily not writing down our orders when placed. No waters, along with my burger that I clearly stated I wanted medium well came out medium rare. So my son was able to eat and enjoy his Reuben completely before I got served again. My burger was good second time around, fries weren’t that good. I believe my son enjoyed the restaurant and Ruben more than I did. Just took a long time for a limited menu, average meal.

Appetizers, sandwiches and salads. The only bad point was trying to put us in high table and high back chair. I have difficulty to getting up those. Because I have knee replacement I had to ask for another area. They were happy to assist.

The worst thing about this place is agonizing over what to order because the entire menu looks amazing. I went with the cuban sandwich with hand cut fries and had zero regrets. I can’t wait to go back to try out the rest of their menu! We were also well taken care of by the host, and our server, Kathryn.
Oh, and the prices are reasonable, too. Lots of value for your buck!

After we left this place, my companion and I looked at each other and both went “Meh!”. This was a shame as we really thought we’d like the place a lot more when we looked it over online. the menu looks interesting and they allow you to decide on which kind of patty to put on your burger: Beef, chicken, or impossible meat substitute. There are interesting sounding combinations. Their salads looked good. And as a taphouse, we thought we’d find some really interesting beers on tap, as well as perhaps unique offerings by the bottle or can.
Reality was not quite what we hoped for. We got the Salmon salad. It was interesting. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and the combination of veggies was a bit different than what you normally find. It’s not always that you get green beans in your salad. The combination with the tart salad dressing worked really well. So far so good.
The pimento cheese sandwich was too messy. This required two napkins just to pick up. Ultimately, it ended up being eaten with a knife and fork. Who wants to eat a burger with a knife and fork? The combination of the melty cheese with the mayo, the tomatoes and more was just too many greasy elements. We upgraded to the roasted cauliflower as a side because we wanted some thing different than french fries. They were very underwhelming. Cooked cauliflower with almost no seasoning? Really?? For a $2 upcharge?
Finally the beer selection was plain confusing. The beer choices seemed meager (as in not many) and the layout was difficult to decipher for what was what. We ended up not ordering any and restricted ourselves to water.
Now came the kicker. Sandwich, salad and two waters. Tab with tip came to $30 per person. That is way too high for this level of food.
So, nothing really terrible, but there are better choices at better price points all over this city.

Only have margarine and jelly . Who eats margarine? No butter . Otherwise food was average – to great . staff was wonderful. We had brunch so we didn’t taste their great selection of beer. Looked like great Christmas cocktails . I’ll bring butter next year.

Fountain drink machine was down, okay no problem things happen. Kids meals came with a drink so we were offered bottles out of the machine instead, great! Bill comes, $8 added for two drinks, no issue we’ll tell the waitress about the mistake. Waitress talks to owner, owner is in but refuses to take the charge off our bill. This is unfortunately the mentality of the people who run this place.

This place has some outstanding food! I always saw it packed to the brim for dinner when I drove past. Know I get it The soup of the day I had to start…I SO WANT THAT RECIPE! The Burger was a perfect mid rare paired with the whiskey mushroom gravy and onion straws was perfect! And not as messy as I assumed it would be. To top things off the Hummingbird cake was the icing on the cake! Literally lol. If you want a no wait quick to table delivery I suggest early hours on the weekend. And I am definitely bringing friends and family here to experience this gastrogem.

Thornhill is so much fun! Service and atmosphere are relaxed and cool. Then menu is great. They have a hush puppy appetizer and they’re delish. Their signature moon shine cocktails are strong. You could definitely get tipsy after a couple. We tried their chili, which was meaty and spicy. Truly Texas style chili. I ordered a BBQ burger. Sometimes when I order a burger out I find myself having more bun then burger. Not at Thornhill! Check out my pics, you’ll see I had more burger than bun! Everything was really good. I can’t wait to go back.
