We visited this restaurant on September 19, 2025 for a birthday dinner. Our server Krista was awesome! Very personable, knowledgeable about the house cocktails and the food.
We ordered a wide variety of sushi, rolls and entrees, all of it was phenomenal. Appropriate portions, quality ingredients, and well presented.
Highly recommend! Our group will.be back!

Our experience was simply unforgettable! Our two servers were an absolute riot—knowledgeable, personable, and always ready with a great recommendation. The food was fresh, served quickly, and every bite was a delight. We even requested something off the menu, and they absolutely delivered on that too. The cocktail game was on point—next level and very well priced.
A special shout-out goes to Natalie and Justine, who truly made our night. Their friendly and vibrant personalities had us laughing the whole evening, and they went out of their way to ensure my partner’s birthday was celebrated in style. Even though we arrived late, they accommodated us until the very end.
This visit was definitely a highlight of our Fernie birthday road trip, and we can’t wait to come back again!

The tonkotsu shoyu ramen tasted amazing and had a rich flavor. The noodles had the perfect texture and softness. The server asked if I wanted to make it spicy …I said no, but I appreciated that they offer that option for spicy food lovers. I went as a party of one and waited in the waiting area for about 15 minutes, during which the server asked if I wanted a drink. It’s a great place that I would recommend for a group of friends, but not so much for an intimate date night, as the environment is better suited for a loud and fun evening.

One of the better sushi place in Fernie. We loved the nigiri (especially the scallop) and the tonkotsu ramen. I would say the hand rolls were a bit underwhelming but overall we had a great dinner.

I used to travel in and out of Fernie for work for the better part of a year and every single time I came back, I ate at Yamagoya multiple times per week. This is one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to and I have been around. I think I have tried everything on their menu (maki, handrolls, torched, sashimi, you name it) and I have never once been disappointed in something I ordered. Fresh, authentic seafood at a quality-matched price-point.. can’t get much better than that.
The service staff have always been friendly and attentive, and they have a wonderful selection of cocktails here that I encourage you to try. If you’re ever in the area or even passing through on a cross-Canada road trip then please do yourself a favour and stop in here.

The best sushi place in Fernie. We were surprised how good our sushi were, for such a small town the food quality was amazing. Also loved the modern music playlist! The cocktail menu is impressive, Toki Pom Sour is my favourite

Few things make me willingly stand in a long lineup, in the cold. I HAPPILY do every time I am in Fernie, because their delicious food amd lovely service sparks intense joy. If I could have their tonkatsu ramen, amazing sashimi, and the pink robot every day of my life I would!! Thanks for being awesome, I’ll be back every night we are in town

The sushi here was pretty good overall. I found the sticky rice could have been a bit softer and moister, though. We did have to wait longer than we anticipated for our food, which was a bit of a bummer. On the bright side, the sashimi was really tasty and a highlight of the meal. It’s a solid Japanese restaurant that’s definitely worth checking out.
